Why is no one respecting wake up hits?
In world and rise when I used a sleep weapon people would always try to stop hittting and let the person with the hardest hitting move do the wake up hit, but in this everyone just steals it with their lowest damage piss baby move.

Why do you think this is? Due to all the new players who maybe just dont know? The vets calling the game easy? Its rather annoying I made a god roll arti sleep weapon for nothing, at least online.

by the time they go to sleep there is a very high chance they are 1 hit from anything away from death, just due to how easy it is to hold them in place for their last 20%

so when it comes down to it: set up for 30 seconds to kill it vs run to hit and hit it once to kill it, which would you rather do?
Wake up hits are basically pointless, i'm sorry. the monster dies so fast anyway that wake up hits and Sleep bombing aren't neccessary.
Longest MP hunt I've ever seen was around 8 min. Most end in about 3-5 minutes. Paralysis is probably more useful in this game.

Though if it's something like a tempered gore they would be wise not to waste a sleep.
monster die in 10 min, you do more dps during their sleep animation than any single hit wake up attack. non cordinated sleep bomb would also be out dps'd by just continueing to attack
monsters die within 5-10 minutes there's zero challenge therefore mid maxing damage doesn't really matter atm.
Because a group deals more damage to the monster in the time it takes to setup the wakeup hit than the wakeup hit does.

Wakeup hits are too weak to justify the downtime.
I mean, if you're grouping with randoms, sleep getting ignored just par for the course.
Monsters dies in less than 5 minutes. Why wait for 1 minute just to setup that does less damage than four people wailing on it?

4 seconds to get out the true charged slash for over 1.1k damage minimum so far when I'm far from getting the decos I need, it depends on the other players but in the average match I dont think this argument works

You can do dps the whole sleep animation, you just need to stop at the end and get the best of both worlds
only the first hit does extra damage.

if the "big wakeup move" is a gunlance's wyvern fire, only the first hit will do double damage.
It's overflowing with tourists is why. They dont understand the community and just come in swinging with their narcissistic mentality and $hit all over the respect actual players have.

Gatekeeping is good, and we need to gatekeep the h3ll outta this game. Im done with the "accept everyone mentality" get out of my game and go play your chinese gachas (I'm not yelling at topic owner btw)

thats fair but the answer is still the same ulitmately: people are more then capable of doing more damage by wailing on it during its sleep animation in the same timeframe it would take to do a set-up
Same problem every title, new players who don't know about it.

I refer to that in the same comment, you CAN wail on them the whole animation but if you just stop for the end you can get your big wake up hit too, along with pulling out a true charged or other big hits not taking that long
