Also another thing it might be for what ever reason the game will randomly delete a couple files so every now and again when it starts hanging and freezing up for a couple seconds re-validate the files I've had this happen multiple time's.
is it a sata SSD or a NVME ?
If it's a NVME, is resizable BAR/ReBAR enabled in your bios ?
Also try adding the game's folder and its executable to windows defender exclusions.
Edit: Yeah, some people report that just running REFramework helps. ^^''
I've seen it online discussed online but usually coupled with some mod for DLSS. Does it actually do anything on its own? I downloaded it and had it on my system on a particularly bad day for freezing, but it did not seem to actually do anything. I assumed some other script had to be installed but I wasn't sure so I just took it out of my game.
NVME. I'm not sure about the bios setting. Also I am using linux, I forgot to mention that in my post (its been edited).
People report only having results with a very recent nightly build - 2 days ago or so, so give it a shot again ?
right, check if rebar is enabled in your bios, it might help ^^''
Another thing you should do once you enable rebar is check with REFramework if the game is indeed taking advantage of it. In the developer tools menu > Object Explorer > Scroll to the bottom > in Field Signature, type in DIRECT_STORAGE > in app.OptionParamDef > TDB Fields > Check if GPU is set to 1. I believe you can do it manually with REFramework, but the game did it for me soon as I enabled rebar, just used REFramework to confirm.
Installing REFramework didn't change anything for me on its own, but lots of people reported it does, soo... There #FullDisclosure :D
that's also an easy fix to try ^^
I've been trying to find out how to find my driver version on linux. Whenever I try it doesn't give me anything useful (maybe I just don't know what I'm seeing). I did check for updates, using the terminal and everything updated successfully. I still have yet to find that. I'm a bit of a noob for linux, but I try lol
I checked and ReBar was disabled. Just enabled the option, so we will see if it helps. I'll give REFramework another try.
Honestly, I'm willing to tolerate 30 FPS if it means the game is stable. I'll have to play around a bit more to see if I can get back the old FPS with the stability. I'm hoping it isn't just a fluke either.
