Maybe

I'd recommend starting with World. Way more content, and a much stronger overall game

if you play any of this, why start with wild...
start with world or rise

rise is a bit more arcade

world is the best, game never ending
you can play for 1000 hour
If you didnt play Monster Hunter, Wilds can be a good start ( still i some aspect World is better). Widls is very easy MH game as for now. I see it like this:

- MH WIlds - super easy in many ways. Also less polish MH.
- MH Rise - easy to Master rank ( Master rank is in expansion )
- MH World - Normal to hard, very balance i started with this MH and love this franchise.
- MH 4 ultimate Generation ( only on Switch) - orginal and the hardest game from above.

Also must mention Wilds still is bugged. I think you can start with Widls if you want a easy start. If you want more challenge look above. Try to lean move about all games and the you will decide what kind of MH would you like to play.

Only if you have a higher end PC or a PS5, otherwise your going to struggle playing the game.

I second this notion.

Although Wilds is a great game mechanically, it lacks content if you don't pace yourself. Worlds also offered more of a challenge which helped progression feel more meaningful compared to Wilds where I can count on one hand the number of hunts in which I felt truly challenged.

Wilds is fun if you can overcome the technical (performance) hurdles provided your hardware can run it well enough.

If you want a dumb fun MH game that's easy to get into try Rise There's a demo so you can try it out to see if you like it.

World is also really good and play very similar to Wilds so that's another good choice.

MH Wilds is also really easy even for new players so you won't really struggle playing it.

Wilds could be a good start, but it needs a little time to clean itself up and add more content, but World is fantastic, has a ton of great content and you'll realize if you'll like the series all the same from that game. Plus it's cheaper right now at 60 bucks for both the main game and expansion.

Important addition: if you do choose to start with World, avoid the Guardian set! It's designed to fast-track base game to get to Iceborne faster, and it gives new players a lot of bad habits. The game is more enjoyable and better paced if you ignore it altogether as a new player, and instead focus on each mechanic as it is introduced organically
