really hate Jin Dahaad
Failed the second quest against him I seriously dislike him ALOT.... he chep shotted me twice, once when I was frozen stuck and couldn't move, and last cart he cheap shotted me with his ultimate cause there was no ice block nearby where I can shoot down and get behind

I really REALLY hate unavoidable ultimate attacks with infinite range, absolute cancer

I despise him so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ much

This monster is a dummy. During his ultimate attack, you need to drop an ice block from the ceiling and stand behind it so that you don't get hit. Git Gut
channel your inner superman my dude. that ain't no kryptonite move.

Jin Dahaad is easy. This is a skill issue I'm afraid.

This is the second time i've seen someone use that cringe term "worldcel" what does this mean, the last one to use it wasn't very bright.

Edit: after looking a bit more..yeah, seems exactly the type to use such an asinine word.

Have you tried slotting in skills that counter those things?

Oh no, poor you....

I've played MH games, where you had to practice some monsters for hours before being able to kill them and you're mad you didn't rolled over one first try.

I feel sad for state of Monster Hunter, accessibility killed the challenge.
Stay near his back legs. You can evade the ice area attack by staying back in the ice that fells from the sky when he's charging that attack. You can do it!

I think there's a balance to be struck with difficulty. Early on, most monsters might feel a bit lacking for veterans, but it gives newcomers in the first wave some breathing room instead of getting crushed right away. Rather than wild difficulty spikes, they’re opting for a smoother, more gradual climb:

- Low Rank
- High Rank HR 8
- High Rank Tempered HR 20
- High Rank Apex HR 32-40
- TU1 (coming early april)
- More to come

And with TU1 already set to drop in early April to spice things up, it’s clear they were aware of this from the start.

Yeah this was announced before the game even launched. While it was still in beta even.

The issue with this fight, at least for me, was that I had no idea there was a giant AoE attack that was going to happen. This is an ability you have to be aware of prior to the start of the fight if you want to survive it. It absolutely will kill you the first time you see it, unless you get lucky and have already knocked down a rock to hide behind AND that rock is still present (they seem to disappear) AND that rock is in a spot you can reach in the short window before the AoE.

This isn't a well designed mechanic, because it isn't immediately clear to the player what they're supposed to do to survive it. The first time it happened to me, my first thought was to try and get around a corner. The field was empty of anything to hide behind (despite having dropped several rocks on the enemy), so I tried to outrange it and get around a cliff corner. That didn't work, of course.

Using environmental damage defensively isn't something that the game has you do in any other fights. The game basically teaches you to use those attacks whenever you can, not save them so you have something to hide behind during a part of the fight you didn't know was coming.

The way this mechanic should work is like this - It should only be used once per location, and each time it is used it should automatically knock down several boulders you can't use offensively. The player seeing a giant AoE attack charging up while also seeing that charge up trigger hiding spots to appear would be sufficient for it to be reasonable to expect the player to survive the attack. The player needing to be precognitive is not a reasonable expectation.

if you can't tell he's doing an ulti with Olivia literally yelling at you to hide I got bad news for you buddy
If you think he's hard ... you're wrong. The previous games have some even harder monsters. I'd say Safi-jivva in World is harder than this guy.
that's crazy, cause he's one of my favorite hunts in wilds lmao. he has amazing presentation, his design is one of my favorites in wilds (possibly in monhun in general tbh), and while i'm normally not a fan of huge aoe nova attacks i think it works really well with jin. he telegraphs it very blatantly and as long as you didn't waste the ice blocks on cheap topples earlier in the fight there should always be one nearby to block it. it's also just... survivable, lol. it's not a one-shot, the first time i fought jin i messed up avoiding it and still survived. outside of the nova all of his attacks feel very fair and they're really well telegraphed, i can't think of a single attack he has that i'd describe as a "cheap shot" (getting frozen by an attack and then hit by a follow-up attack isn't "cheap" btw it's called being punished). there's honestly not a single thing about jin dahaad i would change, he really is peak monster hunter for me.

I hate this monster too. Not because it’s hard but because it’s just not fun.

while i don't think jin's particularly difficult once you get the hang of him, i don't know if comparing him to a master rank post-game boss designed to be fought by a full party of four is really fair lol.
