You just write it is terrible, but nothing more than that. I do not think it is terrible. It is a matter of taste. And it also fits the setting very well, like Proof of a Hero was for MH:W in its version.
Seems so.
I can't remember a music in Wilds that just pops out and becomes memorable.
World? Oh it had several.
Even the main town had a really good music. I remember when the Final Fantasy quest came out and Behemot was actually a bit too hard for me that point and it was only until much later when I had Master Rank gear when I went for it again.
During all that time I had the Final Fantasy theme in the main town and when I got back the original it hit the feels right away.

I don't get how they could have downgraded the music as much as they did in this sequel.
That is the true Proof of a hero from wilds, it's the 2025 version, but it is locked behind the 110 dollar purchase. The it will likely be the song that plays on the final boss of the game once it is finished (Like rise was and the all mother did.)
You can also use it as profile and camp tent BGM.
I agree that nothing really stands out but Apex themes are not totally not bad.
I think whoever wrote the music doesn't really understand that battle themes MUSIC has some distinctive theme going on, like remember Nergigante fight music in World? Yeah, like this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdYpTAtlawg
the sound in general is all over the place.
on one hand weapon sounds have never been better, like gun lance is just cheffs kiss.
on the other hand there are stock assets used for monster sounds like deer screams recognizable from valheim, chicken sounds for seikret and the most generic bear roar for gravios.
What a blunder
