But also when you're done with a game you can just play something else lol
ye thats a point. i just never got a MH game on release before. Kind of a shock, good to know what future mh titles will be like. Winning strat to wait a year after release for a game to no life for fun. kind of dumb if alot of players wait a year on a games release to actually dig in, wouldnt it be better just to keep cooking the game until its ready for that and then release?
it is just early access pretending to be release.
Wouldnt that be valid criticism? if one mechanic defeats all purpose to other mechanics in the game, whats the point of the game other than that one mechanic? If the mechanic was fleshed out and had nuance to it it might be good, but in mh wilds gimmick mechanic of weak points, there is no skill check or nuance. Its just hit the one spot x amount of times until a red glowing spot appears then press r1 to stunlock monster. Thats how deep it goes. only real advanced strategy to be seen is just stack a bunch of red glowing bits then keep the monster eternally stunned.
It’s how worlds for example became so successful
Just go back to play your my little pony battle royale games paying for skins and playing the exact same thing for years if you just don’t like monster hunter
You even have clan lobbies.
This is the MH realese with the least content to play. Not just because of the Monsters quantity, World had kinda same on release and Tri had even way less.
The problem is as you mentioned, there is no challenge or a good curve progresion to farm for, it feels like it was a MH made just to rush all the monsters and story in 30-40h and be done with it.
This have never happened before in the whole franchice, the gameplay wasn't never a boss rush (before Rise) and there would be mission levels/ranks that mattered, with urgent missions with actual difficulty, needing preparation and a proper endgame rank farming or missions to complete that gave secret monsters or elder dragons. Not even mentioning all the other gameplay mechanics that made the loop more varied and enjoyable, like gathering quests, farming objects, having an actual farm to take care...
In Wilds every other gameplay mechanic outside combat is just super simplified or don't exist anymore. Besides linking a lot of perfect build crafting or completion, there is literally no reason to play the game after 50h. On older base games in 50h you would have just finished high rank and started the endgame and/or go decide complete all the quests to play at very minimum +100h.
Make sure you play Iceborn, the expansion. I played 600h on World, 200h in the base game and 400h in the expansion.
first of all, i mentioned rise and i played the 3ds games. 2nd i hate battle royales, check my games. 3rd i mentioned i never bought a mh games on release and now realising how ♥♥♥♥ they are on release, im likely never to buy one on release again and just wait until dlc comes out. Its like you didnt even read the content of the thread before posting. I get it though, you probably cant find it, like this game.
We have 5 hubs... =)
