Gameplay loop is irrelevant in Wilds
As has been said many times, Wilds is significantly easier than Worlds to the point that the gameplay loop is irrelevant. The idea is to hunt monsters to be able to craft better gear to then be able to hunt more challenging monsters. I have finished every quest/mission there is and killed all tempered monster's multiple times. I forged exactly 2 sets of gear the entire time, 1 low rank set and then 1 HR set of odogaron. There was never a single point in my playtime that i felt the need to craft better gear to progress.

I remember constantly hitting walls in Worlds (starting with anjonath), getting carted constantly forcing me to farm materials to build better gear and learn the monster's behaviour and attacks to be able progress. Which in turn made killing those monsters so much more satisfying. Wilds does not do this at all and completely kills any atmosphere or feeling of threat/dread from monsters. I killed every Wilds monster first time solo with ease (i am by no means a pro gamer - average to above average at best with most games). Yes i died a few times but never failed a mission. I am now 60+ hours in to Wilds and basically have nothing left to do. There is no challenge here which tbh makes me a bit sad as i feel Wilds is a massive step back from the atmosphere Worlds set.

Monsters in Worlds were intimidating and difficult and basically required people like me to farm better gear and learn the monsters to progress.
Monsters in Wilds are all bark and no bite, require very little tactics or strategy to kill and in turn far less satisfying. Don't get me wrong Wilds does a lot of things right but i sunk over 800+ hours (~400 on PS4 and ~400 on PC) into Worlds and i just don't see that happening in Wilds which is a real shame.

I quit after 10hours playing. This is Monster Hunter Autopilot, for the masses. No skill required. No gameplay mecchanics reuired. Just L2 and r1 get the wound imba mode an dbutton smashing, thats ally ou need to do.

You didn't even get out of the tutorial

I don't think saying wilds is easier is heresy but there are definitely other factors.
Starting armor in worlds sucked hard while in wilds is godly by comparison, the palico is also extremely good from the start.

Regardless of difficulty complaining now about the gameplay loop is dumb because we're going to get a ton of events hunt with an higher difficulty same as worlds before iceborn.
Weapons and armors are going to be replaced, decorations are easier to get this time simply because you don't need to meld and savescum a million times to get 10 attack jewel unlike base world.
Funnily nobody mentions how you need to actually farm a lot to get armor sphere this time.

The game does not get much harder out of the tutorial.

Right now Endgame tempered monsters fought solo feel like regular hunts from World.
It feel like the highest the difficulty slider in this game can go right now is normal difficulty whit no endgame.

I hope we do actually get harder event hunts but i don't want to disappoint myself again so my expectations are low.

and to me world was so ridiculously brain dead easy that it was insulting. i was also upset when monster hunter freedom unite made the game stupidly easy by giving you a farm to have access to unlimited resources. by now i've just come to expect the game to be easy. is this easier than world? sure, but not by nearly the magnitude world was easier than MH 1 and MH 2. in my mind all games prior to world are in one category, all games from world on are in another. they're almost not even the same game.

yeah farming artian weapons is also fairly oof. ;p
this is where the old MH RNG has been relegated to lol.

Sorry bro, but endgame tempered monsters feel like base world's endgame monsters. You're probably comparing your experience to fully formed world with expansion and 4-5 years of content releases. :P

Was World your first real foray into Monster Hunter?

If so, I think you're not recognizing that after 800+ hours in World, some of your skills do indeed transfer to Wilds. It makes sense the game is a lot easier to you than World because, well, you played 800 hours of World before Wilds but you played 0 hours of other MonHun before World. Almost like having 800 hours of experience makes you better at the game, or something.
Even after 800 hours in world, replaying world from scratch was distinctively harder than playing wilds blind, picking a new weapon (HH), without ever reinforcing your armor and using only comfort skills. I kept telling the friend I was playing with that HR would be noticeably harder like it was in world, and it was not. He ended up dropping the game mid way, and I'm afraid the same is going to happen to a lot of people once they realize the challenge is not there.
Out of all the games Monster hunter should not be giving out participation trophies.
Ugh, I forgot that the cutscenes are unskippable.
Either way, game has been rolled back to pre-iceborne and character has been made. Gonna prove my point

My boy started with world (Pretty sure cuz Anjanath was New players wall), learned how to play and now think wilds is easy af. Nah, MH has always have a normal difficulty or had a learning curve, but difficult has neven been its' selling point.

worlds and rise was too easy... remember its the DLC that was hard. Or arch tempered monster, but... that wasnt in the base game, it was added and all. Its this easy dude, its not dark souls.
Woah thats an incredible idea, never critique games ever because thats the way they've always been and its unreasonable to expect satisfaction as a customer! :)

It's unreasonable to expect a game to change and dunk on it when a vast majority of players are satisfied though, especially if you're not expecting pushback and act like you have the ultimate opinion.

At some point, gotta realize that your satisfaction as a customer doesn't trump Capcom's satisfaction, or the satisfaction of the playerbase at large.

wilds IS way easier with all the added mechanics, more iframes, perfect blocks, focus mode and focus strikes, seikret save + healing and sharpening while on it, AI hunters that cannot be carted and can do every hit except the last.

capcom made this game not to offer a gameplay loop, "meaningful" grind or anything. they designed this ground up to be beaten by the lowest common denominator of gamers, in fact probably even non gamers.

Right, because having one difficult monster in the endgame would be too much dunking on the new players right?

There's three, and like world, more will come.
This game is not harder or easier than world was on release. I came into world with 2000hours on two other titles though.

It's not about the monsters dunking on the new players, it's about people like you thinking they have the ultimate opinion dunking on games instead of considering the factors that might make them feel that wilds is easier.

It's always the game's fault on steam forums, and like I said, your satisfaction doesn't trump capcom's or the playerbase's at large, even though you might think your opinion is representative.

Clearly you're not here to have a discussion about it. If the game doesn't suit you, don't play it. People are loving it though and it is the best selling monhun ever. ;p
