Why is Paint Pod still in the game?

i think you can disable this function to make it more immersive

Maybe they thought we cant know what Monster we're attacking if there's a Group of them?
Personally, i've changed literally everything except the Stone and the Net to invisible, they're just annoying to scroll through if you're in a hurry.

You might want to mark one particular monster if there are several of that species on the map, I guess. But if you already have it targeted, do you really need to do that? I was a bit confused by its inclusion too.

Ah yes, maybe when there's multiple of the same monster we can use the paint pod to mark the one we've been hitting

If you fight a group, apply a bunch of damage to one and it starts fleeing, you can tag it, finish your fight and find the wounded one.

It can also be used to mark locations on the map, if you shoot it into the floor, walls, terrain, etc as a ping to other players if you want to set up mounts, traps, etc.
