MH Rise also had allot of problems with savefiles that got corrupted and yeah from my knowledge its still not fixed on Rise either
That sucks.
I recommend to make backups then, and eventually check your settings. Do you have force quit enabled?
backups doesnt help either, i tried to download the save from steam cloud from 2 days ago when the game was working and did not work
Backups work. I am using them on a daily basis. If your backup does not work, then it is corrupted.
Save files can and get easily corrupted when the game crashes lol, this was a wide spread issue in mh world in the beginning and it still persists in wilds.
Don’t spread misinformation about things you clearly have no proper knowledge of.
Hey I read your old guide for monster hunter world and was really impressed, I tried to apply it for wilds, with no luck. I only have the corrupted version of the files, since steam cloud overrode them. I would luckily share them with you, if you’re willing to help, before I take the decision to delete everything and start from zero again. I was already 100h in but I would even be happy if I only get the character face file back at least.
Thanks for the offer. Unfortunately Capcom revamped their DRM since the last Monster Hunter title. Currently my best efforts are insufficient to restore the savegames as intended, and I cannot even use third party savegames due to the progression file being bound by the DLC file.
It is kinda weird what Capcom did there, because they had a good and smart architecture which is now entirely dumbed down for the favour of harder DRM.
At this moment the best I can do is to suggest everyone making daily backups and beware of cheaters who create manipulated investigations. If might be not that bad if while playing multiplayer one accidently completes them. But it is probably wise not to save them. Similar like with Monster Hunter Rise before.
Sorry I cannot offer you any more helpful advice in that regards. Capcom's DRM makes it currently impossible for me to make a restoration of savegames like I used to.
I was able to join his private lobby, but the game crashed when I tried joining his posted quest. I got an error message to report to Capcom, which took a very long time to load but I let it finish. Then, when I restarted the game, it loads all the beginning adverts but when it reaches the step where it would norally say "loading save data" or whatever, the screen remains black and nothing happens
I can still see my mouse moving around btw, and if I leave it on the black screen long enough, the game just eventually closes itself with no option to report a crash.
I wanted to add that this was the ONLY time I have had a crash with Monster Hunter Wilds. I was kind of silently celebrating how great the game has been working for me personally (because I know it's not great for most others) but now here I am, unable to play the game and not really sure what to do moving forward.
It might be relevant that I am on PC and my friend is on Playstation. This was also the first time I tried doing any multiplayer, as I had also read that it wasn't the best experience yet.
Lets see if they can help me
Why bother if you do not have time to play again?
I've searched high and low and, at least at the time of writing, I cannot find any fix for a corrupt save file.
How exactly did you contact Capcom about this, as I would like to do the same thing. When the bug reporting error shows it just saves a file somewhere in my steam folder, which I would also like to share with Capcom.
Thanks buddy, hopefully we get this fixed soon!
Sorry, at the time of writing I still have found zero solution to this problem. I will update though if anything comes up, please do the same!
