Uninstalling deletes your save file.

Let me preface this by saying I turn off cloud saving on most games because I would rather have it save to my disk as sometimes cloud saving is unreliable, which is my choice, and a choice that is available for me to make.

That being said, I guess it's better to have it on for this title because it deleted my save file from disk when I reinstalled due to the wacky DXGI HUNG error I was getting out of the blue yesterday and today. Game was fine until it updated.

PSA: Don't uninstall the game before you make a backup? Thanks, Capcom. 60 hour save vanished into thin air.

seems reading is hard for some of ya'll, i have repeatedly said, and so has OP we didn't go and delete our saves, only the GAME, it is quite clearly in another location, and i, myself, didn't go and delete myself, i fairly sure i would know if i did, wouldn't be here also saying the same thing otherwise, so yeah, uninstalling the GAME will also remove your saves, so far as i can tell. so be careful.

Uninstalling the game uninstalls the game, shocker. If only there was an option that creates a back-up of your local save files...

wdym cloud save is unreliable, there are versions of the saves there are some reasons why it may sometimes fail

it could be down to your slow upload speed as some isp have really bad upload speeds, or the save/saves are very large like >500mb and above

yea, i reinstalled the game and my 90h save is gone.

100% User fault. Saves are in different folder managed by Windows, Steam folder for wilds its the only deleted. Something happens probably caused by the User. Simple like that.

At least in my case, the only thing i did was uninstalling directly from the steam library and then reinstalling it... nothing else.

You realize it saves to your local machine and THEN uploads the save to the cloud right? Unreliable is not even a valid descriptor for this "issue".

You are incorrect, simple as that.

The savegame are untouched when uninstalling the game-

Well no you are wrong, 20 hour save was deleted after reinstalling, there is no mistake here, the game simply takes the save with them if you uninstall. I'm sitting here in front of the "No save data exists." screen, and you can guess I'm not hallucinating it.
