Gore Magala another example of cheap difficulty in MH
Out of nowhere this monster does like triple the damage or more than previous monsters and it's "chip damage" when you are guarding is like the NORMAL damage you would receive from other monsters when you arent blocking.

This is stupid.

It's the typical "defense does nothing, resistance does nothing blocking does nothing" garbage that now forces you to use dodge as a main form of defense that games lik Souls like use to make artificial difficulty.

Just beat it, I still think it does way too much damage when you are blocking and there are no resistances attached to said attacks so they basically bypass your block which is a typical strategy for developers to punish blocking.

Anyway, I don't have to read anyone that comes to attack me or to mock me, I have all the right to block people that come with that intention.

And this "telling people you are going to block them is against the rules" because it's combative!!!"

NO

Combative is to come into a post and attack them and mock them, that is combative but I know this are the steam discussion forums and how the apply this rules.

All of a sudden telling people that if they come with ill intentions you will block them is "combative" yeah, give me a break.

This is the reason why I block people because it's the best you can do in this forums.

My average kill times in MH 1 high rank are like 3 - 4 minutes slower than my average kill times in wilds, mostly due to travel time and monster jank.

Damn, sounds like you have a LOT of player skill then. never played MH1 so i don't really have anything to compare it too, but, i've heard the horror stories.

The main thing with MH1, is that its low rank is harder than its high rank, which is not a joke. You start with nothing and have to grind your way up to having a decent stock of potions, which you have to use sparingly unless you want to gather in a small monster quest every other quest. You have a very limited inventory while hunting as well, so you want to bring as few items as you possibly can.
"Another example" implies that there are more examples, but they don't list any.
He's pretty terrible in this and I'm not enjoying my fights with him, but a lot of it is because of the awful locale you fight him in. I've only seen him in the tundra so far, which is full of tiny cramped areas that make him awful to fight in. He's much more manageable when he's in one of the bigger areas, but he still has one attack that sucks because the tell for it is really high up -- usually off screen, so it feels really unfair to get blindsided by it.

A lot cant accurately judge it because they don't replay the games. I have played though every pre-world title in the series about 3 times each minimum.
I wish I could say I have, I never got to play the 3ds games or 3U on the Wii U. MH1 to MHTri though I have thousands of hours into each. Probably 10,000 just in Tri
I only have screen shots of a couple of my saves, but here is my MHFU save, im closing in on 10k hours on it. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3125323439

Don't underestimate dung bombs! You definitely want to use those on him to make him flee the cramped areas when he's in them, this goes for any large monster in cramped spaces

High rank has not been roughly the same through out the entire series. HR World was Substantially harder than wilds before the Iceborne ruined the entire balance of the game (yes, when iceborne came out, it effected BASE world.)
It really wasn't. While a lot of newer players were having a hard time, like a lot of the new players in wilds are having a hard time. Those of us with experience breezed though like normal. I think my longest hunt in worlds high rank was ancient leshen and that was like a 10 minute hunt.
The ancient leshen that has more HP than solo fatalis? You beat it solo HR in 10 min?

First of all... dude, spoiler tags. Game has been out for less than a month.

It is a poorly designed fight, though. The large wings often obscure what it's doing unless you're looking at it head-on, and its model often gets culled by the camera; you got too close to charge your greatsword and it took one step forward? Congrats, now you can't see it despite being under it.

Its damage is hilariously boosted over everything else; its actual attacks are no big deal when you can see them coming, but a single hit is a third of your HP with maxed armor spheres and the above camera issue means you'll take a cheap hit eventually unless you play purely ranged.

It's also really buggy! Twice now I've had occasions where it did an attack, ended up on a slope, and froze for almost 2 minutes without taking damage; once it was freed, it could no longer gain wounds, further extending the fight.

Dude, I'd love to see a video of this. The fastest run I've seen was from a japanese guy with SnS and it was just below 20 minutes. Base world without Perfect Rush

This is dishonesty. The side step is not really a dodge.
if it gets you out of the way it is a dodge

1. the game has been out for little over a week... but internet moves fast as so does this game

2. The damage is ONLY BOOSTED when you get infected by the full blown frenzy virus. You take SOO much more damage when you get that Red mist symbol. You have to pay attention how much Frenzy you are building up and use Nul Berries to clear out your gauge *need at least two to bring you down to 1/3rd a guage*. Only when you're in Blue Mist (immune) state are you Safe and take reduced damage AND do more damage.

3. the whole game is buggy, i once had a Jan Dahaan walk into the air of to who knows where only to THEN continue to the next fight. in another fight WAY before that, with ebony Fakagoron, the monster stopped and just let us WAIL on it till it finally died. it still reacted to a tail being cut off and to wounds being broken but it was just a punching bag till it died.
