Gore Magala another example of cheap difficulty in MH
Out of nowhere this monster does like triple the damage or more than previous monsters and it's "chip damage" when you are guarding is like the NORMAL damage you would receive from other monsters when you arent blocking.

This is stupid.

It's the typical "defense does nothing, resistance does nothing blocking does nothing" garbage that now forces you to use dodge as a main form of defense that games lik Souls like use to make artificial difficulty.

Just beat it, I still think it does way too much damage when you are blocking and there are no resistances attached to said attacks so they basically bypass your block which is a typical strategy for developers to punish blocking.

Anyway, I don't have to read anyone that comes to attack me or to mock me, I have all the right to block people that come with that intention.

And this "telling people you are going to block them is against the rules" because it's combative!!!"

NO

Combative is to come into a post and attack them and mock them, that is combative but I know this are the steam discussion forums and how the apply this rules.

All of a sudden telling people that if they come with ill intentions you will block them is "combative" yeah, give me a break.

This is the reason why I block people because it's the best you can do in this forums.

Wait, so you're telling me gore is somewhat difficult? ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ finally xD. I hope he carts me at least twice
The first encounter with one actually made me fail the quest last night/this morning. Granted it was 4am and I had been awake like 20 hours at that point. But it still felt good to struggle a little. Beat it first try after some sleep though.

Gore Magala? He's easy!
They should nerf Yian Kut-Ku or make him the final monster!

And here I was thinking everyone was complaining this game is too easy?

Sounds like you've finally discovered a real MH challenge. Maybe try positioning better and learning its tells.

Gore magala is a demi elder dragon....its MEANT to be powerful.

If you think he's hard wait until if they add its adult form which normally as fast are hard hitting as gore's enraged self...and has its own enrage to make it even more brutal.

He is not hard once you know how to fight him. (its easier to fight him up close as can dodge most of his damage).

If he enrages focus head to knock him out of it asap.

Going to assume OP tried using SnS or Greatsword to try and block Magala's breath attacks, and that in itself is the mistake. I've done this a few times (With max Guard UP even) with SnS and it still does half your HP. It is 100% better to outright avoid the big breath attacks, but the smaller non-enraged blasts are safer to block. You can block it's melee attacks, rushes, and dives just fine with SnS. Leave the breath and stuff to the lances and charge blades, they have a stronger block than SnS do.

literally can be defended, blocked, and DR'd, all of that section is false.
he is, functionally, just another in a long line of status monsters, his is somewhat unique, but the effect of "stops healing and damage downs" isn't really like, a major threat when you can easily remove it just by attacking anyway

I am using lance, his "elemental" attacks "chip damage" are completely overtuned, and the problem is that as a lance user you can't not block, you don't have a choice.

I had to stay under him most of the fight and allow either the NPC that helps you in that fight to tank him or the cat but never really be the main objective to him.

The damage he does is ridiculously overtunned, any of his attacks that come with a black flame attached to it, the normal ones are fine.

Cheap or not still difficult it seems for you, monsters getting harder more challenging as the fight goes on is kinda fun for me personally.

I don't care if you block me I post for myself and others not exactly to you to keep seeing the crap I post

Eh. I've farmed normal and tempered gore, with SnS, and I only block. As in, I play it like it's lance, stick to the mob and perfect guard counter everything. Gore is fine to play with SnS blocking. I think people are confused: if you block, you should aim for perfect block regardless of weapon. Normal blocking is not the goal... it's a failed perfect.

I use lance and his chip damage isn't that bad, put your rocksteady or mending mantle up. Get food buffs before the fight, and try to get shield and/or ironwall decos for your lance.

The hardest level tempered gore is like the only monster in this game that is actually hard, too bad there is nothing hard up to him in this game :/
