Bugged: Chatacabra Carapace

I'm trying to farm the Chatacabra Carapace from the High Rank quest and world farm. But, the drop rate says 100% as a broken part reward, however, I have never received it. I only get the other broken part rewards. I'm only able to grind it off the skinning & reward bonus.

I am having the same issue. I agree that it is currently bugged.

you have to specifically break the left and right arms, not wounds, not any part break, specifically the left and right front arms.

Update: just hunted one, broke both arms and got no parts, received 1 from a carve and 2 as a bonus reward.

Update 2: hunted tempered, no parts from breaking arms again, obtained 1 from carving and 1 as target reward.

What you said is correct, its important to always read the Field Guide another time. I also just hunted one and I was able to break the same arm multiple times, i think thats where the difference lies.

Update: From what im seeing breaking the rocks that it affixes to its forelimbs also lists as a break but what you actually need to do is break its arm. Im getting them very consistently but it takes some effort.

I feel that if it is working properly, the damage threshold to break both arms twice is so high that if you break anything else, the monster will die before you can get both arms fully broken.

I bet you anything you have misread what you need to make whatever, are you looking for chatacabra carpace or chatacabra carpace +, some of the lower ones you have to go and do the easy optionals once you are past the threshold and the game changes to higher.

I'm having the same issue here. Killed 5, got only 3 carapace, each time breaking both legs. What a bunch of bs.

On another note all claws seem excessively rare, anyone else? Like I was gonna make that UwU squid armor the one in the guardian place but I went through like 5 fights to get 1 claw rofl also took me awhile to get them from spiders... kinda really sucks haha cuz you need over 6 but I really wasn't trying to fight the UwU 35 times 🤣

You might even have to wait for him to put rocks on his arms before breaking them.

This monster will lick it's forearms then cover them with rocks to armor itself. Breaking these rocks off count as a part break for each arm, but do not reward the part since you did not break the arms, only the rock armor. You must then attack the arms more once they have no rock armor to truly break them and get the reward.
