The whole game trying to re-download
Probably my own problem only, but just in case: Anyone else has this weird thing going on since yesterday? When you enter steam you see that this game is trying to re-download all over again, but when you press to pause this, it completely disappears.
However, the moment I close Steam and enter it again (like today), it's there again. It again goes away when I pause it.

I verified my files and all of them are fine. So no clue what is going on. You could argue that this isn't big deal since it goes away when you pause it, but I find it weird that is even trying to do this in the first place, and consistently upon entering steam again.

Just wanted to know if anyone else has this experience, or is my own game (steam) acting weird about this.

Nope. Turns out that the game got almost double in size. I reinstalled the program and saw that again. Then I decided to reinstall the game itself and that's when I saw that the game is now double in size from what it was when I installed it first somewhere around release days.

The game wasn't trying to re-download itself as I thought, but rather add additional size of the game that got added.

It was like around 70 GB when I installed it and it was like that for days. Now it's basically 130 GB.

Guess this solves the mystery of why this even happened.
Did you install the high res texture pack? If not I would look into that. According to steam the game is only taking up 60.76gb on my drive

Definitely on your side. Are you running Windows Home?

Nope. I just opened up my steam yesterday and saw that the game was downloading. At first I thought it might be some update, but there were no patch notes and it was downloading the entire game again. When I paused it, it just disappeared.
I payed no attention to it, until I came today and saw the same thing. The game trying to re-download upon me entering, then when pausing, it just goes away.

You can argue it's very minor thing as such since it goes back to normal when you press pause, but I just thought it was weird.
Which is why I verified files to see if something might've gone corrupted perhaps, but nope. All is fine.

Guess it's something on my end and my own steam. Will try to re-install steam when I get back home again if I notice this thing pop-up when I boot steam on my pc.

Damn, it was there 💀
I really don't recall adding it myself, but I saw it among my DLC. Perhaps my friend activated it by accident when I gave him my copy to try out the game a bit for himself before he buys? Dunno, either way it's installed now I guess. Still I wish my idiot self realized this instead of wasting people's time here, asking dumb questions like this.

My apologies.

It happens! Glad you got it figured out though!
