Even people with 4090s or above aren't playing this game how they think they are, your frames are fake, you have to play with AI generated scaling. Your frames are inconsistent, your frame time and latencies are sky high.

Those are the things OP is talking about and yes, they are popular (Check youtube.) For some wacky reason, people farm guild points. I don't understand it either. However the first one, is being used for more than guild points.

The difference is huge, its night and day. 1440p is a massive step up over 1080p never mind 4k. I don't even play at 4k I think its too much, 1440p is the sweet spot for gaming at 120+ FPS. The difference between 60 and 120+ fps is also massive, once you see it one day, you'll remember this and realise how stupid you are.

1080p was the standard for decades, 1440p and 4k have always been marketing gimmicks. if you're not playing on a 60" screen, you don't need to waste money on the excessive processing power it requires.

I have three 24" 1080p monitors. My setup has remained unchanged for over a decade. Costs maybe $80 to replace monitors if needed, and everything runs fantastic. It's great :)

My monitors are 144hz, I purposely set them to 60hz because steady 60fps is better than fluctuating 80-120fps. My sincerest apologies that I'm not as easily advertised to as you clearly are

Now before you go "Modders did it in" no, they didn't. They modified the files and disabled some things. Capcom didn't put the anti-tamper in, to disable it, it is designed to prevent modification of their files, or piracy of their files and now that they see it is a problem, it will likely either be toned down, or rectified. I doubt very seriously it will ever be removed. However, such a change will take time.

There's an anti-tamper in Icebourne; to this day, if it isn't disabled, it still causes micro stutters. I doubt Capcom will ever rectify nor tone down the anti-tamper; they likely don't see it as a problem. The anti-tamper probably also doesn't prevent piracy; they have denuvo for that. They should just remove the anti-tamper though, considering how anyone who wants to mod the game or just want to regain the lost performance from the anti-tamper scanning memory can just drop in a single dll to disable it.

Another thing they honestly could do pretty quickly is update the Direct Storage dll's. That would mitigate the frame rate dips when the camera turns quickly.

Performance IS bad, but given the issue lies mainly with the engine being used for something it's not intended for I dunno what kind of fixes we can realistically expect. And to add that didn't they say the did all of the optimization they could? To me that sets the expectation that this is as good as it's going to get, but I guess we can hold out hope that it gets better.

Glad they are nerfing the farm. I do think the performance is poor for sure though. I have a 4090 and dont like how it feels and looks with frame gen so I just play it with frame gen off and no dlss or any of that jazz. Just raw, all ultra, bloom and depth of field and stuff turned off. You can turn up render resolution a bit to further clean it up. I average 80 fps out in the open and 50-60 in the hubs. Used to it now. Game is great but poor optimisation for sure.
