Seikret auto run is kinda lame
After reaching high rank and beating the story, I am realizing that I really don't like the auto run feature on the Seikret. I find myself just auto running around the zones not really interacting with the environment at all. I auto run to the Monster, I fight it, it gets hurt and runs away. I jump on my Seikret and tap up on my d-pad. Off we go chasing the Monster on the most optimal line. I would turn auto run off entirely but the zones have all these really weird not obvious at all jump points for these cinematic jumping sequences that it's almost impossible to get around without the auto run turned on in certain zones. I dunno it feels... not great at the moment to traverse the zones manually.

Veteran hunters do not use the autorun to begin with, unless we are lazy.

You use autorun because lazy I use autorun to sharpen my big sharp stick
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 7 de mar. às 21:39
don't use it, problem solved.
Hans Moleman 7 de mar. às 21:39
And real veterans sharpen there big sharp stick while running manually
Gill 7 de mar. às 21:43
So go into the options and turn it off if you don't like it. (Crazy statement tbh)

All the people telling you to turn it off didn't read your post.

I think the seikret in general is lame, and not just the auto-run.

Indeed
You can press Q on keyboard to go into manual drive mode. Z is also your brakes, tap to slow or hold to stop.

We did read it, you just don't like the solution. He wants paths to be more obvious? Then learn them by not using Auto-Run, you don't want to learn the paths, use the auto-run. You can't complain about a system to help you reach your target while also unwilling to engage with the the manual version of just walking, ESPECIALLY while not giving any sort of hint as wtf you even want at that point, you have the scoutflies guiding you what more could you possibly want, the complaint sounds unhinged.

This logic is flawed.

The maps were designed around the seikret. It's obvious. This is what happens when major features get introduced. The game becomes designed around using it and turning it off doesn't feel good.

World has mounts that you can unlock, however the maps do not feel bad to traverse on foot because the game was designed around being able to traverse on foot. They are appropriately sized, they have things like clutch claw grappling points, etc. They weren't designed with having a mount from the get go.

There are different settings. Change to one that makes it so Dpad up = mount with auto run. Dpad down = mount with manual control. Similar to how a palamute runs in Rise.

Exactly. You are the only one that gets it. It’s not about auto mount or not. Sure you can toggle it but the game was obviously designed around keeping it on for most of your hunts.
You can...get off and walk by foot. Take a different path than the rock hopping if you really yearn for the longest distance between A and B. And If you don't like exploring, that's fine. Just say that. But there is a ton of awesome stuff out there that people will try to convince you doesn't exist because they, too, don't use their feet. I'm finding all sorts of materials and lifeforms on foot that I've never seen riding the Seikret.
