So, Great Sword, how can you plunge?

I've played GS for a while and I have a particular favorite move -- the aerial plunging thrust.
Now this is World was great. Super situational, but great.
You'd get into a slide, charge, release, jump, hit Y and plunge. More damage the more you've charged with multiple hits.
BUT, it only really does reasonable damage if you've charged while sliding.

Now in Wilds, this move has been copy-pasted in, but now the slopes are honestly kind of whack. Also now in Wilds, you have more jumping off points and the ability to jump off your bird. So, if you jump off your bird and try to plunge...you get crap for damage because it wasn't charged. You CAN'T charge it. Only on slopes. Which are jank and usually not big enough.

Please please please...give us the ability to charge the plunge in the air. :(


Side note:
There's an new move that I doubt many people know about for GS. You can focus slash inthe air off a slide charge. The animation sticks you into the monster and slices downward. Pretty epic.

ah, yeah i've only done the plunge once or twice, both times completely on accident. i remember doing it a lot in world. don't remember it being chargeable in world either tho

In world you'd have to charge during a slide and then plunge.
For some reason in Wilds you can just plunge whenever, but you can only charge it during a slide.

oh yeahh, been a minute since i played so i forgot. it's probably like you said, just not enough angled terrain to justify it.

slide, do pre-jump attack, do plunge when in mid air
in World it seems that sliding was easier to trigger than in Wilds though, so i wouldn't even bother doing this anymore.

oh that's why I sometimes randomly can't charge and end up dealing 20 damage while jumping, what exactly is the difference in input that gets you to do the wet fart attack ?

Yeah, it feels strange sliding now and no jumping off dunes is a bummer. Now I use wall run or seikret to initiate aerials most of the time.
