Its the only one who does this and Yes, its natural for this Monster to do so... nobody wants to get beaten up. xD
Was the oddest bug, I think I caught it on stream but I’m not entirely certain. This has happened twice so far where it looks dead, but comes back to life.
We’ve also had it where it dies, doesn’t pan the camera like you killed it, then eventually allows you to carve it.
this wasn't an issue in past games cause, well, they didn't have those indicators, but im sure you can see why they would temporarily hide them so its little trick could get people.

Naw its playing dead as a survival mechanic. Hoping that you'll go away and leave it alone. Many animals do this in real life too. Where they will pretend to be dead.
It's a survival mechanic they obviously copied for a bit of fun and uniqueness.
