16GB RAM vs. 32GB RAM Performance

for anyone using 16GB of RAM and those using 32GB of RAM, how's your performance? Are you using DDR4 or DDR5? If you have the software available to you to know, how much memory does MHWilds use normally when playing? I've seen where it's been reported that MHWilds wants a minimum of 24GB of memory, so I'm curious on what others have seen/think.

me personally, I'm using 16GB of DDR4 3200Mhz in Dual-Channel config, and my RAM seems to max out a majority of the time. it has me considering an upgrade to 32GB of DDR4 3200Mhz, hence why I'd like some feedback on any notable increases in stability or performance beforehand. thanks!

Just shifted from 16gb 3000 to 32gb 3200, both dual channel. Night and day, especially in Azuz. No more stutters and drops.

16gb, the game uses 5 to 6. I completely debloated my windows 10 and play at 1080p.
i can open multiple browser tabs and game at the same time just fine. Didn't have a single crash yet.

same for me i run it at ~5 gb, i do get the feeling the game works well, its just that ppl expect the game to run on max setting or 200+ fps or both, and if it doesnt its the games fault

im on 32gb ram and i had some browser tabs in chrome and 3 runescape runelite clients running in the background with wilds on, all totaling up 19gb

closed mon hunt wilds, and it took off 9gb landed at 10.8gb

also one thing to note is that my wilds was running for hours, meaning running multiple investigations in different zones, potentially racking up stuff to store in the ram. a fresh wilds instance may not consume as much ram.

so im in the camp that says na ur not gona gain much performance, and if you are already on two sticks of ram, in dual channel then your good to go. assuming of cuz you dont run stupid amounts of programs in the background.

And unless you’re chasing AAA shovelware, 16GiB is still a perfectly decent amount of system ram when you have a dGPU.

I'm running a 2080ti with 32 gigs of DDR4 ram. Surprisingly, I've been able to run the game smoothly above 50 FPS since launch on high without adjusting any settings.

My brother in law is running a 2070 super with 16 gigs of DDR4 ram in a laptop. While playable, there are noticeable chops and drops in framerate.

I think the extra ram really helps while the game remains in the unoptimized state it's in. If I were you, I'd spring for the upgrade.

64 gig ddr5 6000 mhz and the game crashed alot, had to turn off xmp and lower the memory to 4000 mhz. now its not crashing anymore.. the better youre pc the worse it runs

There is no performance difference I already tried it it runs exactly the same, I upgraded from 16 to 32gb & nothing changed.
Save your money for a better GPU or CPU a upgrade that actually helps in a meaningful way that you'l notice.

Everyone going on about how low RAM is fine really should define why its fine so we can all have a good laugh at their expense.

RAM pricing is all over the place.

I used to be able to get 64 gig kit for less than it costs too buy Monster Hunter.
For me that just makes this entire "debate" stupid beyond belief.

Get enough RAM, enjoy your PC.
YES the games will run smoother.

Generally speaking you want your memory the RAM to hold all the assets aka DATA, the FILES that are getting BIGGER AND BIGGER, well you want your PC to hold all of that in Memory rather than say the storage drive aka PAGEFILE!

Some end-user's will experience FPS increase others will experience higher 1% low's.
Some end-users with weird high end builds that are already very fast might not experience much because their PC could swap the data out of memory fast enough that they never noticed a difference.

How much anything is noticed depends on the games used to benchmark said differences.
Not to mention the fact that all that goes out the window when you start modifying the game with user generated content.

That is precisely how PC works when you actually have enough memory to stop hammering the ♥♥♥♥ out of your hard drive and then screeching on forums about optimization.
