Whenever im fighting Guardian Monsters with randoms, they seemingly never ever shoot elemental slinger ammo at Wylk Crystals created by the monsters.

you can shoot it with you weapon unsheathed. just a little tap of a button is all it takes to fire off that stone.

sure, but that still requires me to touch it, as opposed to going in to attack the monster, the wylk crystals don't impede me anyway, so why bother?

What does shooting them even do? I've never done it and have had no problem killing them quickly so far. I haven't joined any sos for them though so I have only fought them solo

The crystals explode and deal a lot of damage. they have multiple explosions and can chain explode if there are multiple. they can deal up to 150 damage from a single tick. times that by 4 to 10. the lowest they can deal is 51x4*chain explosion.

Im curious too. isnt there also a set bonus when theres wylk crystal near you too?

I did it when I played the story. Now in coop endgame hunts. Nah. Smacking them with my GS does more dmg than these explosions.

I prefer adding the explosive damage to my greatsword. makes me giddy.

the cultists only use longswords and dual blades and chargeblades, anything else is noob gear and youll get removed from the quest. god forbid you use slinger ammo let alone pick it up in front of them, may god have mercy on your soul.
