Maybe. As of the moment I have identified the cause of the issue in OS settings. So I cannot really say it is a game problem, when Windows settings are responsible for the issue.
Oh, Windows sure will not stop you from creating a new savegame. That is not the problem. The problem lies in what happens if the game is closing and Windows is juggling up the tasks so that for some players the game even remains running. The result in such apphangs will lead to savegame corruption if it happens during saving.
Is probably an issue with the latest patch, this is why save backups are important, there not even guarantee that CAPCOM can recover your save after fixing the issue.
