"Unlisted" or "Friends Only" Lobbies
I believe 90% of the obtuse multiplayer experience can be cured by adding an "Unlisted" lobby option, or a functionally congruent "Friends Only" Lobby type.

Currently, hosting a private lobby forces interested parties to enter the lobby ID manually in the lobby search, creating an unintuitive process.

By allowing for unlisted lobbies, friends would still be able to join through the "Hunter Friend Lobby Search" option, without forcing them to get in contact for a lobby ID. (Assuming the players interested are already Hunter Friends in game, although I never had much of an issue friend'ing anyone)

honestly why they scrapped the lobby system world had is beyond me. it was so easy to set up and navigate...

honestly worlds UI is just 10x better than wilds idk who they let cook but they need to get fired

Yeah, I really don't know why they didn't do a "Friends Only" lobby option. Private lobbies are a half-solution, but I still need to give the lobby code to my buddies instead of them just joining on me.

There is also squad lobbies

'Friends Only Lobby' is quite literally Squad Lobbies. Just invite your friends to your squad, and they can join the lobby right as they start up, no extra codes, nothing. Enjoy. Think of them like clans or guilds in any other game. Except in Wilds you have a permanent Lobby for your guildmates to join at any time, whether that's when they start the game up and login, or after, doesn't matter. You can also be a part of multiple Squads, and join their lobbies as you see fit.

Maybe it is an indictment on the UI that this feature already exists in game and is much better than the way World handled it, yet people like you know nothing about it.

I've been joining in the friends only multiplayer lobbies with my friend group for the last week without having to set anything up each time. There's no way I'd get in anywhere near this many hunts with my squadmates compared to World, where you had to specifically create a new lobby each time and tell your friends to join in.

I will admit I forgot squads existed when making this thread

Just make a squad with your friends and invite them all to it. You can be in 8 squads so it's not like you're even committing to it like a guild. Just a nice option for a private lobby.

Edit: Just saw your response above. There you go :D
