What is the benefit to artian heavy bowguns?
Outside of the obvious ability to create a bowgun with the element you desire, and which is generally stronger than its monster variant (at least, I assume, as that's how the other artian weapons seem to work), what is the benefit you receive for giving up your heavy ammo types (slice, sticky, wyvern) for only having the one element, or one status in addition, ammo at your disposal?

I haven't actually crafted any artian heavy bowguns to see if the mod loadouts are different, as I don't wan to end up wasting parts just to find out it's a pile of dung pods. So, what are the benefits to crafting an artian heavy bowgun?

Bowguns don't have elements or status. You get nothing, you lose what little they gave you as a bowgun player.

But don't bother with bowgun. It's a lot less playable than even 3U.

Aside from 3 T3 gems slot?
Nothing.

It's pretty meh compare to other artian melee or bow.
And definitely lose to a good monster crafted one

It's alright if you like to play and juggle with the base ammos (normal/pierce/spread) since they all start at level 2. You can get 1 or 2 extra utility/element type ammo depending on your artian parts but that's about it though.
you can refine Artisan Weapons.

HBG/LBG both have the ability to roll "capacity up", even multiply times, aka gain 1 more shot per ammo type.

You can easily craft one with paralyze and fully focus on pierce + other skills thanks to 3 three-sized deco slots being available. You can actually get the best HBG/LBG that way.
