Petition: Help needed for Spread Ammo for HBG/LBG (And Sticky/Cluster)
Seriously, they nerfed spread ammo all the way. It got the clutch claw treatment and then some. Nevermind that there is no recoil/reload mechanics beyond Opening Shot, or rapid fire flags for LBG, but spread ammo is just so bad that it's completely unusable.

The damage isn't exactly wonderful, though it's largely irrelevant as your never going to be taking a HBG/LBG with Spread 3, and likely not even Spread 2 unless your intending on using it for purely ironic purposes. The recoil for both hbg and lbg makes it completely useable. Maybe you could sort of manage something with a full dodge build on an LBG using the dodge shot, but I highly doubt it as your talking about dancing around a monster at relatively close range, keeping on target would be functionally impossible for most.

Granted, even Normal ammo has issues (of the primary 3) but only because of the triple tap element making dodges/blocks harder and it's lower yield when rapid-fire over Pierce.

Honestly, most of these complaints can be paralleled over to sticky/cluster.

Really, the only viable (yes Meta, but that's not always a bad thing) high end builds for the guns are Pierce and Element. It's good that element is viable at high end gameplay, but I'd like to see all ammo and types be functional. Though Slicing is... less viable than it's been in previous installments, it can still be made to work, if less so, and oddly enough, best from mounted.

I mean I hate to say this, but it was broken in the prior games.

And then to make it worse HBG is _still_ one of the best weapons in the game for just raw damage. You must have seen those videos going around for 4 HBG users just _melting_ things in like, 20 seconds?

Basically what I'm saying is they're still insanely good even after the nerfs to that one ammo, but that one ammo got abused so, so much that I'm surprised it took this many games to be adjusted.

A shame, but the gap between HBG and LBG is still there even now.

It was busted in previous generations for sure.
But Normals did not need to get shredded the way they did.
They've never been meta in any way shape or form and yet Wilds Normal shots, particularly for HBG, scale extremely poorly.
The 3 round burst is simply too slow. You are left way too open when using it with no way to cancel a shot after it begins the burst while at the same time it does piss damage against most hit zones and a tiny critical distance window where the target is perpetually too close or too far unless you have max Ballistics.

An even funnier kick in the teeth is the existence of Tetrad Shot.
You get a damage boost from your 4th shot of a clip and a second bigger boost from the 6th.
G.Arkvelds gun has it.
It has:
Level 3 Normals. Base clip size of TWO.
Level 1 Spread. Base clip of 6.
Level 1 Pierce. Base clip of 4.
The only other ammo that can reach even the beginning of the skills buff is TRANQ SHOTS.
Its own built skill cant even be properly utilised by the guns own main ammo. Sure you can bend all its mods to get it to 4 shots per reload on those N3s. Congrats, You can get a single boosted shot at the end of your clip. Really worth having the skill built into it right?

Bowguns needed nerfs for sure.
But not this ...

blademaster only players cannot comprehend that numbers nerfs aren't the same as nerfs that make it feel like garbage to use, even if the damage was god tier it'd feel terrible to use spread like this

i dont care how its nerfed, long as it is.
It isn't pleasant to use. And frankly, finding out that there was no way to customise it to make those ammo types even half usable has made me not want to play the game. There was nothing stopping them from toning down the damage, or just keeping it the same, but instead they increased output across the board and made it feel ♥♥♥♥ to play.

It honestly feels worse to play now than it did in 3U. Honestly considering uninstalling and requesting a refund. They massacred it, and after playing it through the entire series, it's finally just not enjoyable to use.
