Uth Duna Tail
Trying to get the watergem. Higher odds from its tail.
Problem is this boss is designed to be fought in bodies of water, no matter where it is. Every time I cut the tail off, it seemingly gets lost beneath the surface. Not even any glow to indicate where it's at.

I literally watch the tail get severed, observe where it landed and subsequently sink beneath the surface of this 1 foot high water, and its never seen again.

Anyone else have this problem? Any tips on how to carve this damn thing's tail? lol

Yeah I've been looking for one in between missions. No luck yet. It's certainly a solution as I'll eventually find one. In the meantime I'm just curious if this is a genuine bug or if I'm just totally missing something.
i dont think ive ever chop uth duna's tail before and i spam dragon piercers a whole ton lol

maybe u just need to break it?

I do believe Uth Duna's tail break doesn't make it drop a tail on the floor. Breaking it should be enough.

That's correct, there is no cut tail you can carve from the floor.

Well the watergem reward details specifically say Tail - (Carve) is the problem.
And yes, cutting off the tail can be quite difficult, namely because of the large veil covering thing it has. This is part of the reason this issue is frustrating lol.

Edit: Okay never mind you guys are right, I misread. The carving entry is separate from the tail. Mystery solved. Thanks!

You can break the tail, but not sever it.
