I have yet to install the game on my ROG Ally. I did not know the device can run it to begin with, with the limited capability. I already consider the usage of Lossless Scaling a must.
That being sad, you can check the usual tweaking tips
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3436896664
I recommend to make use of everything, with a main focus on tip #2, #4, #5, #7, #15, #16, #17
I would not try running the game with 900p to begin with, considering my experiences with Cyberpunk 2077 on the ROG Ally. I would just straight forward set to 720 and use Lossless Scaling with adjustments. Only if the input lag is intolerable I would try it with 900p
on launch it crash all the time on high end PC
Then the first patch after launch came, it fixed the PC so it rarely crash BUT now on ROG ALLY X it crash all the time which make it unplayable
use tip #16 in the guide mentioned above - most skip on that after updates, which can lead to performance losses
Wow, one helluva guide, very well put together, kudos! I’ve given it a scan through, but will need more time to digest and go through some of the steps and see how I get on. Thank you for your efforts 🙏🏽
Yep. Totally this! Frustrating as hell. Especially when the game ran fine without issues before that first update.
If an update changed your performance, always go through tip #16
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3436896664
It is most of the time the shader cache which needs to be readjusted
so if using that + tip #17 in tandem, you can reduce the chances of issues from updates to 0%
I’ve ran through several, well most of the performance tips suggested in the ‘PC Performance tips…’. As well as Setting MHWilds exe to the highest priority for windows resource utilisation, uninstalled and then reinstalled the AMD Radeon graphics drivers, reset the shader cache in the AMD software, deleted the shader.cache file from the MHWilds installation director in my device, set VRAM to 8GB, 10GB and 12GB, ran game as admin, ran steam.exe as admin, increased windows performance settings, changed windows memory allocation… all these while still tweaking game graphics again, tried the ROG Ally Life suggested game settings, and then reduced them lower and lower lol…
Aaaaand you guessed it, the game still bloody crashes. Sent more crash logs off to Capcom under my support case. Whether they’ll look at them I don’t know. Think I’ve exhausted most things, and I’m pretty cheesed off trying now.
Pretty disappointed and fed up is an understatement. Think the game devs need to investigate this now, there’s clearly bugs or issues with the game.
Literally game work fine for 10 hours or so and now it’s totally unplayable since their first patch update, can’t even get 10 mins game time without crashing
Very unfortunate. But you tried everything then to make it work on the handheld. No one can say anything different but praising your efforts.
I still have not tried running it on my ROG Ally. But I will give it a shot as well.
I am expecting to run into the same issue as you. Should it miraculously work, I will think of this thread and let you know.
Thanks for sharing your results!
Appreciate your posts and as well as your advice, was all worth a go. Thanks 🙏🏽
Pretty poor and disappointing, feels like a cop out response tbh.!
“Thank you very much for always playing MONSTER HUNTER WILDS.
This is MONSTER HUNTER WILDS Support.
In line with your inquiry, based on the information you provided, the on-board graphics that you are using does not meet the system requirements of this game.
Therefore we cannot provide you with further support, please do understand.
Thank you for your inquiry.
We look forward to your continued support of Monster Hunter Wilds.”
The ROG Ally X came out mid-2024, is that 2019 budget graphics card better than the ROG Ally X’s Graphics??
Seems very weird to me.
I still remember, I would have bought the X too if the normal one was not that cheap. I got mine for 399 EUD, otherwise I would not own it. But if I could I would have go for the X too.
Capcom released another game update today, but it doesn’t fix the crashing issues I was experiencing!!
So I’ve decided to manually update the AMD drivers to 25.3.1 as there are quite a few posts around and YouTuve videos advising this.
I followed this guys YouTuve video - https://youtu.be/pgyGvZlAfh4?si=WgXGq7_afwVSgesK
Since updating to these drivers I’ve had no crashes and I’ve been playing the game for about 3-4 hours so far 🥳🥳🥳. Even though I was hesitant as this driver version isn’t available in armoury crate, so not ‘official’ from ASUS testing, it’s working OK for me. Maybe it will appear as a driver update in the near future within Armoury Crate…
