I figured. It was just a reminder that some games still do launch in a decent state, even if that list of games seems to shrink with every year.
I also don't have any issue with them charging for a G-rank expansion but the base game should keep getting better, but with Wilds they took several steps back.
Every Monster Hunter Title doesn't matter the console had a Gathering Hub, even FU has a gathering hub. "Online" was VIA PSP/PS3 ADHOC, 3DS local connection or Wi-Fi, and now Console online has a gathering Hub the moment you boot the titles.
World on PS4/PC needed an update so it functioned correctly but the day it released I played with friends with the random disconnects that were rampant and before the patch that adjusted the monsters HP because players dropping out did not adjust accordingly. You couldn't even Alt+Tab too often otherwise it would disconnect you.
Sounds like you never liked MH games and prefer that streamlined Call of Duty experience.
It's not surprising that the long term fans feel like a lot of the changes to Wilds were negative and the people that never really liked all the charm of the old games would feel the opposite.
And just so you know you only need low rank rarity 5 gear to beat Iceborne and Sunbreak, Rarity 4 if you are really good.
I played for 60 hours and I already have the highest-end sets and completed all missions and have all the decorations I want. Game feels empty now and too easy.
Will rate this title at 75%, too bad we will probably have to wait for another 5-7 years for the next main MH game and who know if they will ever go back to their original soul-like formula.
It seems like their target audience were busy dads who only had an hour or two to play a day, user-experience is so tweaked to the point that they ended up dumping down core mechanics that made MH the game it is.
Good point on the base games should get better. The last time I felt like I got my money's worth which unfortunately didn't get a G-rank expansion was Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. P3rd feels like the [Golden Sun] of the entire series to me at least lol. Best Village design, Best sound track, best looking drip in terms of Monster Design, armor, and weapon design. this is all IMO though.
PS: If anyone plays Portable 3rd, grab that Kelbi Bow for Beginner Mode.
I skipped all cutscenes in Wilds, monster hunter doesn't need cutscene just give me the details in the quest text
"Game n+1 in series x sucks, we need to go back to how it was in game n" complaint.
I'm sure you'll be back when the next game releases going:
"Game n+2 in series x sucks, we need to go back to how it was in game n+1"
This is revisionism.
If this game was a proper challenge and people were complaining that it was too hard the same people would be saying, "It's always been that way!"
