Guessing you can't capture Guardians?

Either I'm doing something wrong, or they're like elder dragons and we can't trap them. Normally it'll say "ineffective" or something, but they just glide over the traps

I've trapped one or two, they wont go to sleep though in my experience, so you're doing it in combat, but it works.

Guardian Ebony Odogaron falls into Pit Traps. So, maybe you can't capture them. But, some traps do work.

Yeah you can end it with a capture, just the standard trap and two tranq balls method works, just expect it to keep swinging!

You can't capture some guardians on the main quest. Just look at the hunt objective, if it says "slay" you can't capture, if it says "hunt" you can.

You can capture the NON ELDER DRAGONS thats for shure. Also them with the plague (lets call it that) you cant capture either, you have to end them.

You can't capture Jin Dahaad, but he's not elder dragon.

Given JD is newly discovered he may just be an elder that's yet to be classified at this point tbh. Same goes for Zoh-Shiah.

If it says "slay the monster" instead of "hunt the monster", then you can't, which is the case for all guardian monsters that appears during the story.

Okay, maybe because it was part of the story quests that I couldn't capture them. I think I remember this happening in a few other MH games, too and I just didn't pay attention

Zoh-Shiah can't be considered an elder due to it's origins, it's not something that comes from nature, also, considering it's raison d'être, it has sense that you can only slay it.

Atleast with this one they had the decency to not add it as a tempered monster like they did with Xeno'Jiiva in MH World, I mean, how TF can a newborn elder be a tempered one when literally he has faced no menaces? xDD

They can be captured. You can't capture anything that falls under the label "Slay", like happens with Jin Dahaat or the guardians the first time you fight them, but after that they fall under the "Hunt" label, ergo, you can capture them.

Guardians can be captured but NOT in the first Assignment you have for them. Same as that first Chatacabra. It is basically the Devs just screwing over those of us who want a perfect capture record.

yeah dosent work i got one into a trap and spamed all 8 tranqs on it and nothing it pissed me of really just felt robbed haha
