PC shuts down after a few minutes of gameplay
It's been very difficult to play this game, either it goes from good fps to 5 or 4 fps or it shuts down completely my pc after playing without any problems for at least 10 to 20 minutes.
It's very weird because only with this game this happens, I can play GOW Ragnarok, RE2 and 4 Remakes, Spiderman 1 and Miles Morales, etc. with no problems at all, but since I started playing MH Wilds I got these errors. This never happened with MH World.

I even thought it was my PSU since a few months ago the fans started to sound very loud and bad. I bought a new one with 1000W Corsair RM1000x Shift but the problem is still there.
I thought It was the temperature, but it never goes to more than 70 grades celsius the GPU or 65 my CPU.

I even limited the Mhz to 2300, lower than the standard max frecuency the GPU usually works, but again the same problem.

I'm starting to think my GPU is the problem but WHY only with this game.

Anyone else with the same issue or any solutions?

My setup:

Rx 6950 xt
R7 5700x
32 gb ram DDR4 3600 hz.
Motherboard: TUF B550 II
NvME SSD 1 tb Kingston NV2 and an HDD but I don't install games there.

Did you check your RAM memory? Something similar happened to me, some games that demanded more would turn off the PC. And I checked all the items you mentioned.

I tested the RAM memory, but there was no problem with it too.

Then I discovered that it was the operating system! I formatted WIN11 and it fixed the problem. In the end, it was nothing to do with the hardware, just an old and corrupt OS.

I've been having similar issues.
I'll be able to play for about 3 hours give or take, and then my PC will randomly power off. Everything off.
Also thought it was heat, but my GPU hot spot hit only 73, with the gpu averaging 63.
CPU averaged at about 71.
So nothing even really close to overheating. Even have game graphics set to medium to make sure i'm not pushing it for any reason.
Running a 3070 with a ryzen 7 3700, 32gb of ram.

We've troubleshooted everything with no luck.
The only possible solutions we haven't tried are completely replacing my ram or power supply. 775 should be enough power I'd think with my build, but who knows.

Or maybe its just MHW likes to delete people's computers. Because I can't figure it out either.

"its not the game" ye, right
thousands of ppl have hardcore problems with ONLY THIS GAME, but you say its not the game
i never had a single problem with my PC being frozen, that i have to shut it down through the power button (btw, game sound was still there)
event viewer -> nothing
cpu -> chillin at 50% and 60°
gpu -> 90%, at 70°

i did several stresstests over hours for every component -> nothing

today i re-downloaded elden ring, played on everything high for 8 hours, whilst having 2 streams open
and just for the giggles, i edited and rendered a video in davinci resolve
guess what? nothing happened.

yet this piece of ♥♥♥♥ game randomly freezes my PC
sometimes i can play for 2h with no problem, sometimes it freezes the pc after 30mins

"buy new pc" if thats the comment you're coming up with just ♥♥♥♥ off
the game aint too much to handle, the last 2 freezes were while in town, i went away to grab a coffee and came back to a frozen pc

spent more time troubleshooting this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game than playing it and then i have to read ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ comments from ppl sitting on their high horses
god i wish every one of you would have that problem and someone would rub it into your faces, just for ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles

Yes it's the game it is very badly optimized for PC. We have no choice but to wait for a fix. That is why I often advise for people to refund if they are under 2 hours because that is the only way to get their money back while capcom fixes the issues, which people says given capcom's reputation might take months or never lol.

It could be my PC.
Or it could be something wrong with comparability of this game on certain builds.

Just because you don't have problems doesn't mean there aren't multitude of others with completely different builds than you having issues, specifically only with this game. I can run every other game on max settings just fine. But I seem to power off with just wilds after around 2-3 hours consistently.

Instead of insisting on being another problem on the list, you could try with something constructive to help us solve our problem. But i'm sure you'd rather just say 'buy a new computer' or something.

This actually helped me, I was giving up.
These fixes will end up lowering your graphics, you can change that later, but yesterday I played without any crashes and without my pc shutting down.
Also I limited my fps to 80 and my GPU temperatures are between 63 to 67 Celsius.
For the first time I enjoyed this game.

either your pc is overheating, which you might look at your cooling system/cpu thermal paste or you have a power supply unit issue, i've had similar experience when my psu went out, it would crash during gaming but nothing else, especially a game like wilds where it's using a lot more power.
Sounds like over heating bud.
PSU IS DYING
Try to reduce the power Limit of ur GPU that reduced the Crashed to 0 for me
In the Andrenalin Software its called Total Board Power i set mine to -10

Game has terrible optimization probably causing your computer to overheat. Might have to turn on mud graphics.

No game is worth melting your computer over, least of all this one.

I had some crashes on 25.3.1 drivers, downgrading to 25.2.1 seemed to have helped.

that's a hardware issue...you need check the cpu/gpu chipset tempture, if it's too hot, may replace the thermal paste and clean dust, if this is not the case, you need a bunch of good part to test what's wrong...it could be a lot of things. the 1st part to check is RAM stick, clean those first.

Do you use the Highest quality texture pack? After the first patch to the game I started having blackscreen system crashes and restarts, but when I lowered the textures to High they changed instead to "Fatal D3D error (25, DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG, 0x887a0006)" errors that tripped the crash report systems of game and driver but didn't crash the whole system.

I did a full reinstall of the game after installing the new AMD 25.3.1 graphics drivers and that seemed to help in my case, but I've not played enough since then to say for sure, or tried switching back to Highest textures yet.

In my case the game had no stability issues on launch, even with the Highest texture pack, and my system's cooling and power supply are both fine, as is stability under other games and stress tests. So I'm inclined to think something went wrong on the software side. Plenty of others have reported crashes too, so you're not alone.
