I wish food was a real thing, too bad it only exists in video games :(

It only looks good. But does it taste good? Japan actually have monster hunter theme restaurants with the foods.

You've never cooked a steak before? The food in-game is actually quite unremarkable... hopefully that will be fixed when the cat canteen arrives.

Considering the combinations you can make, it's a mixed bag.

You can have vegetables with cheese and honey, for example...

Food looks good, but too basic for this series, we want overflowing plates of meat like in world
food? wahts that? O_o :lunar2019deadpanpig:
I make steaks with cheese on top all the time. It's quite good.

There are some people who might consider what I do an abomination, but I think that they have never tried it, and it's basically the same thing as a high quality cheeseburger.

Steak with cheese is amazing.

And I'm talking ACTUAL cheese, not plastic cheese.

What I figure out is people won't try it because they had it before with terrible ingredients. It's like eating American sushi then going over to Japan and eating sushi there. Stark contrast.

I remain convinced that our hunters
1) went to the New World as ordered and as part of a new adventure. We then proceeded to pig out on the best food ever before every hunt. Every. Single. Hunt. Didn't matter if it was back-to-back, same day shipping out all across the New World from the Ancient Forest to the Elder's Recess, we didn't care, BRING US ANOTHER ROUND, CHEF!

2) After the events of the New World and due to overindulgence in highly nutritious, but very rich food however, we have to briefly retire to Kamura village for rehab, where we are forced to dine on nothing but dango and tea for our health. Some of us know how that eventually went as far as the retirement goes.

3) And, coming out of retirement plus going full circle, we now eat much smaller portion sizes than our stint in the New World, and these portions last longer for us since strictly speaking we no longer need to eat before every hunt. The rehabilitation in Kamura worked. Even the bigger meals are only eaten as part of a group, where we're sharing everything.

...now with all that in mind, I could see the steak with cheese being a thing we could cook easy.
It's weird. Cooking is just basic chemistry. You go buy/grow/butcher the ingredients you need and follow a recipe in the kitchen to put them all together into the dish you want.

Bro, that's bistec a la milanesa. It's breaded steak covered with marinara sauce, slices of ham, and melted cheese. It's seriously my favorite steak.
