Shock Trap???
Ok... Where the F is that thing???
The game threw me into a "Capture Quest" and told me to use it but I did not have any Shock Traps on me - I checked ALL POUCHES MULTIPLE TIMES!!!

Obviously, in the end, I failed the Quest...

Please HELP!

Edit: When I said "ALL POUCHES MULTIPLE TIMES" I meant all but the Seikret pouch - I never used it since the tutorial in the early game and had completely forgotten it existed. Additionally, I had no idea how to access it either so hearing Alma say I got a trap in my pouch did not help at all...

admittedly not a great way to do it, the trap/bombs should just be available from the start of the quest, but they are provided to you nonetheless.

You're meant to craft it. Go the provisions dude, buy a trap tool and mix it with a thunderbug or net to make a shock or pitifal trap.
Go to your tent to craft one/bring one from your item box. Or the Seikret Pouch may provide one as part of your supplies (Left on D-Pad for controllers)

Your fault for failing. The handler warns you that it’s getting weak and tells you that you’ve received new supplies in your seikret pouch to capture it.

Either you can’t hear or read. Which one is it?

If you don't have one on you, you usually can use a Pitfall trap as well, it does the same thing. If you did not craft any of those two (you should, they are very useful), check your Seikret bag, the game may give you one every now and then - these are temporary, just for the mission and disappear after it.

Another thing - both traps are useless without Tranquil Bombs, so bring some of those too - after the monster is trapped, you need to throw 2 bombs directy on top of it to put it to sleep and complete the hunt.

Ok there Mr/Mrs SmartyPants, let me tell you how it happened - It's difficult to hear/read when there are 3 chicken screaming around you and spewing fire - I heard the part that a trap was added in some pouch so I started checking all pouches AFTER the chicken left and I had some breathing room. Little did I know there was a Seikret Pouch - one that I never used since the beginning of the game and didn't even know how to access. Great game design.

The way they handled this quest is very poor - there are so many other ways to handle it...

Oh, and a piece of advice, being offensive/rude to people on the internet will not make you any friends but will frequently result in verbal offence being thrown back at you.

you know I chanced upon this post and I also didn't know seikret had a pouch at all. I'm probably nowhere near the quest in question but i would still love to know how to access said pouch if you feel like sharing.

the npc does very much say "i have provided you with a trap in your pouch" said pouch being the bag they told you about very early on that acts on a mobile supply box for every hunt

No joke this quest was pretty ♥♥♥♥. Thankfully I did a google search and found out the bird has a pouch that is updated mid hunt you can take from. I must of missed a tutorial at the start of the game or something.

Don't want to be "offensive" or "rude", but there's quite literally a tutorial where Alma reminds you to check your Seikret's Pouch for Supply Items and a Window Pops up and tells you how to access it. You must have missed it, disabled tutorials, or mentally muted Alma when she tells you at the start of every quest "I've added supply items to your Seikret's pouch!"

Indeed, I might have used the pouch once for that early game tutorial and never again. Why would I need to access said pouch when I can set up everything I need before I go hunting from a tent?

At the same time there are constantly pop-up all over the screen with short timers that are hard to react to in time...

Anyway, thanks to the quick responses I was able to quickly figure out how to handle the quest.

Thank you to the helpful commenters who provided constructive feedback.

I've personally customized my item loadout to have 4 potions (she gives you 6 at the start), 3 honey (she gives 3 first-aid meds for now) to auto craft First-Aid Med+, and I leave room for her free rations. Why would I not collect free items?
