describe the issue please. simply stating it doesn't work is not helpful at all.

It's supposed to increase the critical damage of your weapon. It was a core skill fore Bow/Dual Sword user in world/iceborn. But in this game, it simply doesn't work, at all.

https://ibb.co/TxQ0s4TY

983 Without Critical Element
1001 With Critical Element
On a 444 Element Bow at 100% Affinity.

Do note, that i accidentally hit a wound on the target dummy when testing with Critical Element.

The difference should have been night and day (983 vs 1228)

is there a description for what it does? you say it increases crit dmg. but by how much? and from what multiplier?
Critical element just make it possible to crit with your elemental damages and increase your elemental damages i don't think it increase your critical hit damages.
"Increases elemental damage (fire, water, thunder, ice, dragon) when landing critical hits."
This sounds like it 'ADDS' elemental dmg. after crit.

Edit : This is weird. World has the same favor text.

You can disable wounds on the training dummy for a 100% accurate test.

Cool story, what's the affinity though?

100%, as i wrote

As to what it should be doing, following World extensive testing, is allow by elemental damage to crit for x1.35 on bow. I don't know what the elemental part of the damage i would be doing with my 444 dragon bow would be, but a x1.35 increase, (or less if they changed it in Wilds), should be a MASSIVE power up.

But i dealt a measly 18 DAMAGE more over a 25 hits combo, which can be mostly attributed to accidentaly hitting a wound on the dummy (which i didn't know you couldn't deactivate). That's a 2% Increase.

Some general info based on World:
Elemental damage only applies to specific parts on a monster like the wings and head. If you aren't hitting those spots, you get zero elemental damage with or without crit element. The amount of damage your crit gets by default. So if you have critical boost, it applies to these crits as well. Getting affinity beyond 100% gives you access to super-crits. So weakness exploit is also good to pump that number up.

But I don't even like to use elements unless I'm forced to like with Fatalis and Alatreon. I also keep numbers off, so I haven't noticed this bug if it is happening. Hope this info contributes.

While true, the target dummy *is* affected by elemental damage, making this test still valid.

The whole second part of my message is about how I wasn't trying to invalidate anything. I was just offering some info that's really unintuitive.
They seem to have really nerfed critical element. Maybe it's a literally DB only skill now? Not even sure how well DB does with it.

I heard element is actually terrible on bow for some reason

….what? Idk who told you this but they are incorrect. Affinity caps at 100%. Prove me wrong please. I’d love to be wrong.
