World/icebourne was better?
This is a great game dont get me wrong...but its a downgrade in some ways.

- Monster diversity is way higher, but its lacking in the "wow" moments. Some of the monster mechanics in world were actually insanely cool and unique. Except for the flame octopus...The flaming oil coming out of severed limbs is fkng epic

- difficulty/monster hp has been nerfed way too hard...im "ok" at the game but I shouldnt be landing sub 5 minute hunts. That seems dumb as hell. There was never a WALL to overcome, I kept my gear as levelled as possible but I didnt ever have to rethink my build, craft for resistance/element or skills. I just walked in and killed the true final boss first try?

- status effects/stuns/blights etc were annoying as hell...I will freely admit to raging when I got stunned into a unavoidable one-shot. But that made you either buildcraft or get better right? I feel like they barely exist and can all generally be completely ignored. there is no "oh ♥♥♥♥" moments anymore

- Focus mode. what a blessing and a curse, I can finally play greatsword...but there is zero trade off, I can 180 spin at any time I want. It is actually op...to some a massive QOL update, but my god. did we just open a door that cant be closed? we are one title away from just having full lock-on.

- the small things. No house, or cat kitchen sure does suck...the routine of accepting a quest from the handler turning around and having a feast with the epic cats next to the exit was perfect. Now I do it all inside the tent.

-The connected regions just dont really add anything? I dont walk between them...im playing worlds maps same as before

- Nata...nata sucks, just have 1 trade and material window so I can spend as little time with the dude as possible. arkveld should have ate him

its about more than diversity.

We are too strong. with too little effort.

besides jin daheed and the campaign boss. there isnt any spectacle attacks that are just bad ass ya know?

the small goofy things like cat kitchen and endemic life living in your crib were so random but so welcome in world...sitting in your pop up tent sorting your items then being kicked out of the menu because some monster comes knocking is kind of just dumb
people, jokes aside, most newcommers think mh world/wilds is a regular rpg. I know and i understand there this came from but that is not the essence of this franchise and it never was. It was allways a never ending hunting/grinding game for better gear to beat the hardest monster. than you do it with style and after that you try speedruns.

oh yes, the guardian arkveld that never show up again after that. But i have allready 80h playtime and reach HR 135, so guess i have no clue

So you fought the true final boss...then decided to say the endgame story never ends? you really dont have a clue huh

thats now low and high rank pretty much always are. Exceptions being MH1 low rank is harder than its own high rank, mh dos being... mh dos.

Even now I still feel MH3, MH3U and MHP3RD have an easier high rank than wilds.

This is the problem right?...I never got my ass kicked by a anjanath, I never had the black veil force me to learn about decos or skills.

I crafted rathian armour for the layered armour and the rathian sword and just stomped all of HR without effort....There is so little room to get faster its insane.

World/Iceborn is a DLC and 60 title updates ahead content wise though. Even gen ultimate had people claiming 4 was better at launch.

Also that guy in world never got his dragonator.
This is a bad argument. This base game has 50 hours of content at best and when CAPCOM knows what the players want and choose to regress, the argument "just wait for more content" becomes annoying. Just give us a full game I can put 150 hours in.
I just got to high rank (chapter 4) and I'm 33 hours into the game. There is already a lot of content in the game to do.

Im enjoying wilds for sure despite the awful main campaign being a forced giant tutorial walkie talkie section that you need to endure for 12 hours before the fun really starts. That said I definitely prefer world for sure to wilds and I prefer generations ultimate to world. The wound system I actually love in wilds but the focus mode is too strong and takes from the very deliberate positioning skill requirement that the games USED to enforce. You give the perfect example with greatsword. Combat is still overall a lot of fun though obviously lacking the challenge which I am confident will come in future updates and dlc. What worries me is that now that focus mode is a thing I wonder will the next monster hunter follow suit and also include it. I really hope not.

what are you expecting from high rank, beside that it seems you are allready routine hunter? Its like the discussion with "elden ring is to easy". Maybe, cause you played over thousand hours.

What?!?! Experience plays a part?
Nah, I want them to make a low rank to challenge my 20,000+ hours in the series :claptrap:
I don't know if you're comparing the World/Iceborn when they ended to update it or when the game cames out? They was pretty the samem, like Rise too. They will put things by time till they release the DLC

Yeah....you learned how to play monster hunter. Now all subsequent MH games, will be vastly easier for you. Thats how learning works.

Is wilds on the easier side? for the moment yes, its currently a low/high rank title. All low/high rank titles are like this, and they have been since the dawn of time (minus the literal first game)

i cruised through the game super fast with 0 issues/walls, a couple of my friends who are newer to the series were getting their glizzys gobbled by arkveld and one of them was struggling hard with xu wu.

Hell, in world, one of my friends was stonewalled by Anji.

My point is, you are a far better hunter now, than you were when you started playing the series, so everything IS going to be easier.

Temper your expectations. Once Master/G rank comes in, you will get the difficulty you crave. For now, enjoy the chill experience, You may end up missing it when they take the training wheels off.

are you lying or do you just have a bad memory?

Wilds literally has a mount that you can call when you are downed to scoop you out of danger, with i-frames.

even if the game itself had the same base difficulty as World, that addition alone would make Wilds a ton easier.

i carted and failed hunts constantly in World and Rise, but i'm nearing HR 40 and i'm dogwalking even Tempereds and Gore Magala with under-leveled armor and sub-optimal weapons.
I liked Iceborn better, but I've enjoyed Wilds, Win/Win.
