The controls seem super scuffed. Like guard for heavy bow gun is r+f, that's tough to do maybe it's just me.

Kbm works fine. Used it for every mh. If you dislike r+f remap the button.
Guard is ctrl for me.

and alt for sling

The second shortcut is mouse button 4 or 5 iirc. So it's not that bad if you're not using a mouse with just 3 buttons.

Most modern gaming mice have more than two buttons and a scroll wheel. The R+F keybind was already assigned to one of my mouse's side-buttons. It works fine.

I use mkb. I mainly play HH and LBG. Both feel very nice. The ranged aiming feels better for me with mouse and I just got used to it over time.

yes, you can bind 4 mouse buttons, its better than controller

My biggest issues so far are navigating the item pouch to get to the item I need to use, since on heavy bowgun I can't use scroll wheel because that changes my ammo type. I have to use the left and right keys to change items meaning I have to either take my hand off my mouse or I have to stop moving and take my hand off wasd.

Also when using melee weapons i have to press alt to toggle focus mode and a lot of the time I'll press shift to try to sprint and it'll do my focus attack instead then I'll get hit. I know you can change focus mode to a hold not toggle but then for certain attacks I'd have to hold alt and stretch my fingers in weird patterns and hold like 4 keys at once for specific attacks.

Set your f1 - f10 buttons with every ammo for a quick instant access. Also just remap the focus mode button. I placed it to Q for one click (not holding).

i useing mouse and keyboard with all monster hunter games that released on PC and they all run fine and i love it alot for sure i can bind some key shortcuts for some moves that supose to make you press 2 buttons at ones so that nice too

I just bought a wired controller on Amazon it's fine. Some games are worth it, only problem was my ps5 controller even when wired to my pc wouldn't work with this game.

I always use K&M for every game and you auto block without pressing any buttons. The perfect block is not necessary and more for solo players. The perfect block buttons are probably the only ones I'd reassign but I don't use it. Personally I didn't even need it to solo the game and I'm done with chapter 6.
