Finally! Now I can start playing the game!
I only mentioned Freedom to specify that I have played enough MH titles to be able (I think) to compare them in terms of difficulty. Of course I may still be wrong, but I distinctly remember struggling quite a bit with World playing solo against stuff like Nergigante etc. I don't think I have become so good in-between these two games to justify the difference in difficulty I am seeing.
1. The tutorial is always like this...
2. It is the easiest MH to date... some monsters die in 1 minute or less! The monster hp is crazy low and kinda ruins the intro to some monsters when they just die like that.
3. Wounds are automatic clutchclaw mechanic... make weapons like bow able to cut tails and such just crazy. Makes the monsters way weaker than they should be!
Wound mechanic is good idea but kinda ruins the game.
Insect glave can stun lock monsters via the wound targeting its crazy... and as above bows can now cut tails easier than other weapons...
4. Game is much faster paced, not only loading to new fights but the full movement is less clunky and more fluid. If world had the same it would be just as short since this saves so much time.
5. Farming decos now come mega fast... faster than any other mh game. There is no firm basically they come naturally as every hunt gives them and lots at that!
6. As above every monster now gives bonus materials per hunt but also per wound... so you farm parts way way faster, this again reduces the life of the game as you get everything you need in a couple of fights...
7. The game has very little content as is. Most content will come next year which is a shame.
8. Tampered monsters are like high rank... there's no 3rd tier... they ha e clumped high rank and tempered together again reducing the need to farm gear to fight tempered you just farm tempered and ignore high ranked...
The above is a shocking decision by the devs it cuts out a lot of content from the game.
9. There's no need to farm herbs or honey or anything as previously it just comes natural... again this is good and bad as it removes tedious stuff but also reduces the games life.
10. Food and special food items no longer a thing... well kinda. All food is self cooked and you passively collect extra ingredients. No longer do we farm nodes for better food.
11. Side quests again come naturally you can just kill any monster and it will qualify for some side quests. Again it's fluid so no loading from this to that it's just hunt and move on then hand them all in at once.
12. Less customisation due to weapon decos and armor decos... also weapons come with abilities now as standard... so focus and prolong power are basically automatic for said weapon types. This is good and bad but reduces life span of the game due to so much free stuff we use to have to farm for.
13. Weapon sharpness is getting crazy per new gen... I remember old mh games yellow was intro... now green is standard intro and blue very short after! Blue use to be a good few hours into the game. And now white is right after tutorial! Access to handicraft and such is way easier.
The tempered early introduction also enables white sharpness for all weapons after tutorial... mega reduction in game life.
So yeah overall some good some bad but for vets the game is omega easy due to basically handing everything to the player with zero effort.
World overall is still the best mh game imo. But does have mega tedious issues this game gets rid of. But world just feels better while this game you can just face roll anything... no need for stun immune just tank everything you never get stunned...
Very well said and I agree mostly though I do think some of the problems actually started with world though have been taken far farther in wilds. I dislike that you can refill all your stuff after a cart for example. In previous MH games it was sometimes a battle of attrition. Can you beat the boss with the consumables you have? Only 1 mega potions left? Best not get hit. Kinda thing. MHGU is probably my fave MH but I did and do enjoy world a lot too. I just think it took a few too many shortcuts and was where monster hunter began to lose some of its identity in terms of commitment and careful resource planning.
They criticize games and what others like hoping for attention but they hide themselves so no one can criticize what they play or like.
It's like calling someone ugly without showing them how you look like.
Would be nice to see a trend someday happen that people, including me would just stop completely replying to these topics.
i'm not sure where you're getting them patching in HR after release from.
i had the game on PS4 from launch.
they patched in Poogie, sure, but but HR was there from the start.
and World was objectively harder than Wilds, this isn't even really debatable given that Wilds has a mount you can call while downed that will come scoop you out of danger.
