The charged shot before power shot is pretty quick and I guess for the time it takes it's very well worth the time if its charged to max level already.
In reality, especially in multiplayer, you may as well very often pop some wounds to "control" the monster for your party, which may favor special shot buffs
I am not using English to play the game so some specific terms I can't spill out accurately put I hope you understand what I meant.
Still, slotting in Spread Up on a bow with Pierce Coatings and relying mostly on Power Shots works for me. Pierce Coating + Power Shot with elemental bows is probably going to get nerfed sooner or later.
