Monster Hunter Wilds

Monster Hunter Wilds

Statistiche:
Should Launching players with Upswings really be removed?
It seems that CAPCOM believes most players find the friendly fire mechanic distracting, annoying, or outright bad. They also appear to view it primarily as a 'realism' points feature. However, in my opinion Friendly Fire in this game isn’t just about realism—it plays a key role in team building, encouraging proper teamwork, and improving team efficiency. Not to mention how incredibly fun it is to mess around with friends using mechanics like the Upswings from hammers and Switch Axes! I’d love to hear what the rest of the community thinks about its removal from Monster Hunter Wilds (based on the recent interviews).

i would like it if we could use "Friendly fire" in a better way eg. im using 2h greatsword let me be able to help lift people into the air to help them get air combos/land on the monsters. this will make coordinating with people more fun and can easily fix the issue people have with the bad mechanics, Embrace the chaos!

Somehow I get the feeling they are keeping flinches in and are removing the tools that would allow players to punish others when they get flinched. In other words, this just indicates CAPCOM is siding with morons and not actually fixing the issues that were actually at play with the game. Of course, we can still kick anyone that flinches from the hunt, you could say it works better than upswinging them.
I think the only real issue is LS in coop, no other weapon causes as much issue, you have to sacrifice decoration slots if you want to completely avoid the issue, the extremely rare occasions other weapons unintentionally obstruct players is not that big of a deal imo

Greatsword launching is really just an end of hunt emote for 80-90% of world

(All just my opinion and experience ofc)

Dual bladers also tend to have their episodes where they end up being faced towards other players rather than the monster. And in World the IG moveset just makes it keep swinging even if the player wants to stop. But yeah, it's much easier to play without the aforementioned flinchers rather than waste a deco slot on them.
Nothing wrong with friendly fire though...except...if they do it repeatedly with intend fooling around making us fail quest (yeah....its trolling)

Some people taking it too personal and start throwing tantrums just because getting hit 1 or twice

Me ? Im okay with both
My suggestion for capcom : why dont add option to turn off/on when creating lobby
I think a good middle ground would be to remove flinching from ally attacks *unless* you're incapacitated in some way that would allow you to be flinched out of it. Keeps the teamwork side of smacking allies out of Roars while removing the "you can't dps because my 10m of glorious nippon steel keeps flinching you"
shock absorber skill is literally made to counter the knockback from other players, upswings are literally the only way for heavy weapons can support help their teammates+as switch axe and hammer user, I enjoy yeeting my friends in the air to mount

Just have an option in the settings somewhere if you want to enable being hit by teammates, or just keep the stupid flinch/shock absorber deco, i would be pissed if they removed it entirely
No, it shouldnt be removed. Its one of the things that gives Monster Hunter it's goofy identity.

But its usage is getting less and less relevant.

this is a good idea
Friendly fire can be fun with friends and its a source of great laughter and joy for me and my friends who play MH.

Its ashamed MH is on the chopping block of sandblasting the character and charm out of its mechanics and systems in a pointless attempt to make the game "better".

All removing stuff like this ever really does is make games feel like second jobs you get on to play with a bunch of other employees rather than a vibrant happy community who learns to play and get along with each other.
bumping this conversation. It should be in the game. Because its unfair to some weapons now that shockproof is in the game. Longsword and DB the most villainous friendly fire culprits are mostly immune to friendly fire themselves. With them removeing the launching they are entirely immune to staggers. THus they dont need to slot shockproof while others weapons do. Think thats unfair.
At least put it back at the end of the mission so me and the other greatsword users can try to punt eachother into space for 20 seconds before it sends us back to our lobbies. That's literally the most fun part of the hunt :(

Yes, it should. This is a co-op game, not a PvP game.
No, game is already dumbed down too much. It needs to reverse a lot of the dumbing down, not add more.
