Monster Hunter Wilds

Advice requested please. SOLVED
Hello,

I've been reading around and I keep hearing Wilds is a CPU heavy game...
So I wanna try and see if I can upgrade to something better.

My question is which pc part upgrade would benefit my performance the most ?
Would I get better performance if I upgrade from a RX 6650 XT to a RX 7800 XT or if I upgrade my Ryzen 7 3800x to a Ryzen 5 5600x ?

My monitor resolution is 1080p.

I can only do one or the other for now...

Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Please no trolling thanks.

My full specs :
Win 11
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3800x
GPU: AMD RX 6650 XT
16GB RAM

Wild has a free benchmark test you can download, it is on the wilds store page on steam. Try it out to see if you can run it before you spend money on a upgrade.

Thanks but I tried that and my performance is all over the place high 60 to below 30 in the most important spots :/

Theres 0% warrants because the retail hasn't dropped.

But don't trust any of those posted Recommend Req.

If you are going to upgrade anything it should be the CPU but not for or because of this Game.

And no, the 5600x isn't enough.

Since you are playing at 1080p you need a Monster CPU in 2025.

I see, do you have a cpu in mind that's a AM4 socket because otherwise I'll need a new motherboard. :/

I'd say to get at least a 5800x3d but they are all being scalped to Death.

Best Solution would be buying a Console if you just want to play it without Troubleshooting this Nightmare on PC.

Otherwise i would just save Money and wait to change to AM5.

Figured as much. The ones I can reliably still get are 5700X3D and the 5800X non 3D.

nobody can give you good advice other then buy top end gear. however, there are sprawling some preview gameplay builds all over youtube at the moment and some of them say the performance has been improved. my suggestion is just wait for the release and try it and go from there
I see, well thanks everyone who shared their opinion I'm gonna do the wait and see thing because it really makes the most sense :)
The only CPU that you could possible upgrade to is a 5000x3d chip. Dont go 5800x. That is a waste of money. You wont gain much from the non x3d version at all

You're not gonna gain much from that.

I advice upgrading to AM5 thou.

As someone with the 5800x3d for Wilds it still wasn't enough my RX6800 couldn't use it's full power in Wilds, but yea it would be the most powerful thing they could find , but also really hard to find they might have a better chance at finding a RX5700x3d it's only 5-10% weaker and should be much easier to find and a good bit cheaper as well and it'l be more than enough for like 99% of game's.

I'm just gonna wait and see BUT if I need a better CPU I will probably get the 5700X3D if it's still available then.

Yea it's super hard to find 5800x3ds at a reasonable price, the best bet is aim for the 5700x3d and there currently in stock and it'l be more than enough for futur gaming as well.
And it would be smart to move to AM5 but that's not cheap lol which is why I jumped on a 5800x3d a while back when I saw it for $200 deal.

Exactly plus I'd need a new motherboard and reinstall windows and stuff and I'm just not in the mood for doing that just for one game haha...

Here so you can get an idea on how good it is you can also ignore the prices listed because you can find cheaper from looking around and it's different for other regions.
