More proof that KCD2 had more time and effort in optimising graphics. Instead of relying on ray tracing they actually recreated a lot of ray tracing effects without having major performance loss. They also have densely populated cities with no CPU issues.

Digital Foundry glazing should give anyone who disagreed with me a new found understanding that they were simply wrong in the implications that this game was the same as its 2018 predecessor, or not a modern game visually.
Densely populated cities? the world is entirely dead, the game looks it came from 2014-2015, the cities is really the only place you would ever find anything there because the game is not trying to run an entire active ecosystem unlike wilds, the combat is bare bones and the combat itself is like something you find off a kickstarter.

Do not insult wilds by comparing it to some wannabe oblivion.

also these are the so called "densely populated" cities

A decent amount of people yes.

Edit: and unlike Dragon's Dogma 2, no performance loss from these NPCs, and no phasing right in front of you.

I'm pretty sure dragons dogma 2 has like twice that many active people in the city in each screenshot you could take.

Perhaps a bit to ambitious honestly, but I am so very glad I got to play dragons dogma 2. However my main gripe with it was removing some of the features that made it special.

Mainly having pawns small and large in dragons dogma meant something, like small characters could fit in small tunnels, fly harpies, and taller characters could reach higher ledges without double jump, or pile unto larger flight creatures and weigh it down from flying.

Real shame they didn't bring those elements back, it gave it that special feel abd set it apart. If they dove deeper into those mechanics it would have bin top tier. I feel they dumbed it down a bit to much though. But I was a lucky 1 and wasn't mired with and technical issues with the launch.

Best case scenario was console. For those that can't be bothered watching the video:

Visual weakness: DF: blacks are overly grey making the game look washed out

Performance: DF: "Wild's isn't pushing out the cutting edge when it comes to visual quality, but it runs like it does"

Game uses FSR 1 on console lol

Drops below 30, 40, and 60 fps targets on quality, balanced, and performance modes.

DF: "LFC does not engage with balanced resolution modes at 120 hz output, so it feels choppy on VRR 120 hz panels, especially when uncapped" (no idea what this means, but choppy VRR)

Reduced frame rate for background monsters and people

DF: "Concerned about its performance on PS5... Image quality and performance metrics don't line up favorably with other current gen software, even compared to games that are pushing out the absolute state of the art... rough and imprecise low resolution visuals"

Series X is about the same visually and frame rate wise

Series S looks worse (obviously) - 25 fps range when fighting monsters

DF: "Monster Hunter Wilds didn't grab me as a player"

Remember folks: Higher FPS causes more animation delay. Hence, unlike shooter, aiming for excessive fps may affect your hunting. It was like that in MHR and it has been tested already that this game has the same animation lag.

Yep it run basically the exact same as the 6month+ beta build and it's even more buggy than the beta it's going to be mixed for a while.

Hopefully it goes down to mostly negative.

Like all other complainers, pro was not able to read the needed performance and specs. Comes with an outdated md range 3070 card and is wondering about performance...

lol bro, I am happy, my gf also has only a 3080 ti but she can play the game without issues. it's well optimized.

Correction, it's not well optimized.

A 5090 gets bad performance compared to games with better graphics and performance. Max settings, ray tracing, no upscaling or frame gen, 4K, it can barely hold 60 fps.

Go to this video when he goes to the grassy area. He dips below 60 fps:
