Why Denuvo?
It's mostly an online game, why did they add this sh*t?
99% of players will just play Wilds with friends or other people in coop, it's a really stupid move on their hand. I was going to buy it today, but as soon as i saw denuvo, it was an easy skip for me

capcom use denuvo on every game, they probably have a standing contract with irdeto to include it in every product as it's a better deal for them

Tell me why Denuvo stops you wanting it? Not arguing against it just wondered your reason

Because it's been tested and proven Denuvo impact performance at least from other games that has it though I don't mind if it doesn't impact performance whatsoever.

Wilds already performs terrible as it is rn, adding Denuvo to it will just turn it into Cyberpunk's launch.

Did you do the bechmark or just play the game because the benchmark is what you should go after, the beta is has not been updated at all.

Denuvo is an easy choice for AAA. You want to play you need to pay. I think you miss the point of the protection. Denuvo made for protection against piracy.

I have never had any performance issues with a game with it?

Denuvo will be cracked within two weeks. It does nothing but affect people who bought the game.

there hasn't been anyone doing denuvo in over two years, you're either intentionally spreading bad info or very much out of the loop

Will it?

Last I heard there was only 1 person that used to come close to cracking newer versions of Denuvo and that was Empress but they have disappeared from the pirate scene a good while ago so... Denuvo will protect their asset and if you want to play within the timespan Denuvo is on this product you will need to pay up.

I don't believe anyone currently active knows how to crack denuvo. Even if there is, that's the point. Those first few weeks are some of the most important for sales, so it's worth protecting them from pirates, even if it doesn't last long.

5 months on the first crack, first one is almost always the longest, shouldn't be that hard to get it much shorter, might actually take 2 months, might have spoke too soon on the "2 weeks", so thats my bad.

Emp apparently started working with Denuvo for 200k a month lmao.

I still think it'll happen relatively soon in the games life span, I just hope they drop it after a month, The game is going to run even worse with it than without it.

Afraid I'll have to burst your bubble here but the guy that did this develops DRM, he doesn't crack them for piracy. This was a challenge he set for himself for research purposes.

What was my goal?
Cracking the game was not a goal I had. I like Hogwarts Legacy and thus causing any harm is not my intention. I wanted to do research purely for myself.

Therefore this post is going to be intentionally vague and not going to show how I analyzed and patched the game in detail, because I don’t need anymore legal trouble than I already have.

The actual goal I had in mind was to find all features the game uses to derive the fingerprint and to patch them. Ontop of that, I want to patch most of the runtime checks.

For a real crack, it is obviously needed to patch all of the runtime checks. Finding all of them is still an extremely time consuming task, so everyone who has achieved that deserves my utmost respect.

However, I do believe that once I have patched some/most of the runtime checks and discovered all hardware features, I would be capable to patch all of them with enough time and motivation.

The real challenge I saw for myself was to analyze the protection to discover all the bindings it uses for the fingerprint.

Why do you have to destroy my dreams? Lmao.

Guess I'll just wait till they remove Denuvo themselves.
