I really like what they are doing with customization options.

Ever since MH became mainstream, the complaints have gotten bigger with regards to armor options and design, for male but specifically big time for female hunters. Instead of Capcom just siding with one group, they have opened the flood gates as to how you want to customize your character.

Don't like your female hunter showing thighs or any kind of skin? No problem, put leggings and an undershirt if you so please.

Think the female armor is too girly and not as badass looking? Ok, use male armor instead.

Want to make you male hunter look like a butterfly? You can do that too.

Very smart thinking on Capcom's behalf I think so.

Let's not forget about how easily layered armor is unlocked now. Just forge any HR armor and bang! You got yourself some layered armor.

Honestly, I always wondered in the old games why some armours had to be female/male split. Like the guild armours for example. Male characters would get the musketeer like getup, while female characters got the receptionist outfits. Was very disappointed when I figured out that I would not be able to wear that hat on my huntress. I'm happy that they finally made it possible to not lose out because of your character's gender. And being able to have a male looking character with female voice or vice versa etc. now opens up even more creative possibilities. It's honestly surprising that it took them that long for this change.

this is definitely way better than the approach other games have taken, which is to make all armor gender neutral and extremely boring as a result (looking at you, world of warcraft)

now, the people who like having the female characters wear the female armor are happy, and the people who melt down in anger at different genders having different clothing will (hopefully) be less angry now

Yeah having the option of both is really nice. not just for the bits you stated... but also for like waist options, just having more designs means MORE fashion options

Yeah it's been on the monster hunter wishlist for me for a long ass time, and hopefully it is here to stay into the future
