It's like it isn't even Monster Hunter anymore. More like Edge Hunter: Afghanistan edition.
God of War does that too, you are not allowed to figure it out yourself you have to follow the unskippable interface tutorial step by step, when you already know what an inventory is, what an map is etc etc.
Edit: and you get into the gameplay imidialty in WIlds, you are not forced to run into the world, hide from stuff, then reach the hub, then get your hand holded where everything is, then you get 10 min of expostion, then you can finaly equip a weapn and then you have to get through way more tutorials and expostiuon until you finally can do your first quest, that is full of tutorals and exposition too.
1-2DOS is not like this. I still remember hip check of Death. lol
Also love, base camp? We got a lot of supply shortages out here in the desert, but we always have two things in full supply: Cats, and waifus.
Just because they put Kut-ku, Gypceros, Gravios in game?
Other than that, I don't have 1-2 nostalgia feelings.
The art direction is also different. Everything looks like Muddy style. The songs don't feel it.
And also, the director of Wilds directly said his vision for the game comes from the PS2 games
This is spoilers, but the story of Wilds is based on the original setting they made for Monster Hunter when it was early in development, back when it was planned to be more dark.
How is the seikret autopathing handholding?
Like that just seems weird to shove undeer that umbrella, like its ok if you dont like it, you dont have to use it, but, being able to tell your mount to autopath to a certain spot isnt handholding.
Like, handholding usually is things like forced pop up tutorials etc not just a simple travel mechanic.
On a different note, its very appreciated, being able to hop onto the mount, resharpen my lance and heal up and then set down the controller for a sec to drink some soda and eat a slice of piizza before we lock in again into combat is much nicer than the "highly engaging" activity of walking behind a monster.
You are heavily exagerating the how easy it is tho, not that difficulty and darkness are in any way related.
It sounds more like something he wanted to do but couldn't do in the PS2 era.
Nice to get a confirmation, thank you.
