They're using framegen as a crutch
Following the recommended specs in the new benchmark they released, yet you can't reach 60 frames without framegen, at 1% LOW.

Unfortunately, they're using framegen as a crutch for a game that has such hardware demand disproportionate to the graphics quality being delivered. The game is indeed bad optimized. Capcom stil didn't learned how to make "open world" games with RE Engine.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is more beautiful and much more open world than MH, with lots of npcs with their own cycles, and yet, runs much better.

You can definitely reach 60 fps, you need a fairly fast CPU to do it, but you totally can do it.

4K max settings, RT on, no upscaling, I average about 67 fps in the benchmark. 1% lows would be below 60, but if I turn on DLSS Quality then 60% 1 fps lows is no longer an issue as my average fps boosts to 87 fps.

Yeah you can't reach 60 fps native resolution without having really high end PC parts. I have a mid range PC of $1500USD and I can't run the damn game at 1440p without upscaling or framegen. I can even run cyberpunk phantom liberty ultra settings 100+ fps native resolution and no frame gen, and I can't run this crap at minimum setting above 60 without upscaling(even tho it looks like crap compared to any other modern game). I'm just amazed how Capcom thinks it's fine to release the game like this.

What are your system specs if I may ask ?

Ryzen 5700X3D, RTX 3070, my game looks like minecraft with shaders.
"Oh, but you need a faster CPU", hey, i'm not the one who put a Ryzen 3600 at recommended specs.

He hit the nail on this one!

We know. Sadly, the rest of the lot here don't, and its going to echo tenfold on launch day.

They should of just stuck with the MT Framework engine instead.
Sadly is MH Wild won't be the last game try to do this, and if MH Wild sells well on PC port,
It mean sending a message to ALL Gaming Company : PC player love to eat unoptimized shi*ty blurry game.

Imagine this being released with Denuvo...
It will be the cherry on top.

Also, i'm worried about Capcom's policy about modding. You guys might have heard about DLSS Swapper (it updates the game's DLSS to the new one).
I was wondering if that could cause us a ban, and that would be a shamme, since we could actually gain some frames with DLSS4 upscaling, at performance, yet maintaining good image quality.

DLSS Swapper makes Monster Hunt World crash, I assume the same (best case scenario) will happen with Wilds.
Worst case scenario you'll get banned.
Everyone does now. Did you see the 5090 Dune showcase where it was running at 60fps and then 300fps with frame gen? It's all a joke. In no world should even a 4090 struggle to maintain 60fps in any game.

They say the 5070 is a 4090 equivalent, but only with the new 50 series frame gen tech. The industry leans on this new tech way too much.

It already is being launched with Denuvo, you can see it in the store page. Plus if MH Wilds has a game profile in the nvidia app that lets you do the dlss override, then you can force it to use the new dlss transformer model preset K.

It does work on the benchmark, but I guess that doesn't mean much. Looks quite a bit better with DLSS 4.

I didn't knew you could do that through nvidia app. Are you sure of this?

It helps a lot since the new performance mode accomplishes a good image quality maintaining the same frame rate as before.
For those who are getting 50 frames, getting 6 to 12 frames could help a lot.

Yes, most of the games with dlss support on the nvidia app can be overriden to use the latest. I've done it for BG3 and Diablo 4 for now, manually did it for FFXIV and they all look amazing now. So far you can't override dlss from the app if it has Easy Anticheat. So games like Space Marine 2 and Vermintide 2 will have to wait and be updated by the devs.
