Monster Hunter Wilds Beta No License Error

So I have a lingering folder in steamapps/common from the last beta in November. It only contains a config file and shader cache amounting to 386mb. The store page shows the "Play" tab for the current beta, but pops up with an error message: "No licenses" when I click it. I don't have the previous beta stored in my account library anywhere, even under tools, and I distinctly remember uninstalling it after the previous beta ended. Would it be safe to just delete the beta folder currently in my steamapps/common folder or is there an alternative method of uninstallation/installation?

Any ideas are welcome at this point.
