I'm hitting around 60 fps at medium settings in the desert, no FSR / Frame Gen. With FSR + Frame Gen, hitting around 120-140.
Reading more.. I see its the same engine as DD2... which I had similar issues with... FPS was meh.. but worse.. it just FEELS sluggish. I can't fully explain it. Something just feels off.
-Nvidia shill

the nvidia shill is kinda right, if you don't have what it takes to commit you should not be pc gaming, just grab a console and be done with your day like in the past, upgrade is every 5 years now.
Actually iam waiting for the next 5 series myself lol all i got is a 9800x3d atm
I'm right around 4 year mark.. got a 3080 TI and ryzen 7 5800x around 2021... I know it's far from bleeding edge now.. but neither should be performing this bad at 2k w/ DLSS off, nevermind with it on. It's crazy. Changing graphics setting makes little difference too.
Now.. could be CPU bound, but based on the gamegpu post, i'm right around what they were hitting.. average is between 40-60 fps, but the main town is horrible at around 25... bummer. Curious if it'll be better on PS5... I could get it there I guess...
NVM... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjVONf5FBow
PS5 gets about 30 fps... ug.
RTX 3070ti
1440p
Balanced DLSS
Lowest settings.
45FPS
Both looks and runs worse than Rise, a game made for the Nintendo Switch's far inferior hardware. Let that sink in. If we're not tripling performance with the post-beta tuning, it's gonna be a flop. If the expected recourse here is to upgrade hardware well... I don't think the Capcom bean counters have looked at GPU prices recently.
res 2k 165hz
3080ti
32gb ram 3600
game installed on a m2 nvme
amd 5800x
this game NEEDS to be played at 60 fps at the very least without any input lag, stutters , frame drops, or visual clutter
So i think it's just fair at this point to accept dlss and frame gen to some degree. What i mean is the game is running their own engine that continues to get refined and it's a modern and demanding engine as one can look to DD2.
Back when SLi was a thing, that was almost guaranteed to be needed to run a brand new technology engine like cry engine or a brand new game that may be difficult to run. Also resolutions were lower in early cry engine days. The resolution ideal would have been 2048x1536 iirc for CRT but the game like crysis would run at like 1024x768 with multiple 8800gtx cards.
I say that not because I don't believe there isn't a problem with optimization in modern games because there is. However the 5800x and 3080ti are essentially 5 years old and modern hardware has been lasting longer than it used to. So I actually think it's reasonable to expect to turn on dlss and frame gen. I run high end hardware and I turn on both usually to just make the efficiency better. I think your system is still pretty high end though but it's just that the 4000 series was a huge jump and added frame gen through Nvidia. I do think it's coming to the 3000 series though and that will add a lot of further value to the card.
