I mean its not low end but its not exactly high end either with both CPU and GPU being roughly 4-4,5y old today. If 4060-4070 is on the higher spectrum of midrange then the 3070 is still on the lower part of it.
The game is poorly optimized from what I've seen people testing both the benchmark and beta for various reasons (different areas are either CPU or GPU heavy in addition to settings choices) so I wouldn't really blame people being disappointed that the performance is underwhelming.
Now I sit on even older stuff atm (1080Ti) because nothing new had released that was a reasonable reason for upgrading, but it's about time.
But like with World I probably will still wait a few months before getting the game to avoid most bugs and let fixes and perhaps performance improvements come first.
Doesn't matter how old your card is when the game looks worse than games before my card was even created: https://imgur.com/a/KDwyPRr
The benchmark runs just as bad and devs said, that benchmark performance matches the full release.
I've been rearing for moths about a mythical beta from expos, that bloggers played, with better optimization.
I also remember, back when the first beta dropped, people were saying that the second beta will be better.
And what now?
Devs dropped a new beta, saying that they improved the performance. But it's still the same.
They wound be able to fix anything in 3 weeks. Game engine is the source of the performance issues, not the graphic settings.
This game relies on FSR and frame gen to run well because it's poorly optimized. It looks better upscaled than it does native because they used TAA to cover their mistakes by blurring the ♥♥♥♥ out of everything.
This card is single handedly going to sell GPUs, just as it was designed to. Why fix a games performance when you can make a deal with Nvidia/AMD to neuter it and then sell it with a big RTX label on it and make more money with less effort.
REengine is unoptimized but this game is also unoptimized for the engine. The engine has been shown to work many times on many different games. It will take them 6 months to a year to fix the performance. The game is under baked and so is the engine.
Proving what I'm saying is true:

Look at the graphics in MH Wild(2025). It doesn't look much more beautiful and amazing than World, but it's much more demanding than World. Now you need at least a top 2022 CPU+GPU to get 60 frames without using FrameGen.
How much of a failure does it have to make some people think that World has better graphics than Wild. lol
are you daft? They did not say the beta would have improved performace, infact they state the opposite, that there would be NO IMPROVMENTS OR WEAPON MECHANICS CHANGES.
The devs in fact repeatdly said "if we do another beta there will be no improvments just a rerun of the old"
Inb4 sub 60 fps.
Funny, I run it at 60 FPS on
12900kf I9
4080 super
32 GB DDR5
NVME.2 SSD 4th gen
1440p, all ultra, ray tracing max, DLSS quality. If you force DLSS4, the game has little to no blur from the resolution upscale. I locked it to 60 FPS because my eyes suck, but my monitor supports up to 144hz.
But at the same time I struggle to understand why games like God of War Ragnarok, Ghost of Tsushima, Read Dead 2, Space Marine 2 etc... all run at a stable fps rate and this game simply fails to do so while not looking as good.
I would be perfectly content if Wilds looks exactly as World. I don't care about graphics at all. Especially in a game like Monster Hunter.
Also if you have a state of the art PC you should really shut up on this one. Let us be heard. I don't understand why you're trying to defend Capcom. You'll probably understand in couple of years from now, when you're actually working, paying bills and taking care of your family instead of swiping your dad's credit card.
Companies LOVE to promote and surround themselves with FANATICS like this and give MODERATING powers to them because they absolutely like that criticism and disenting opinions are shut down.
I'ts the same reason why the woke inject cultural marxism into popular IPs, because they know the FANATICS will do their job and defend the game and shut any criticism down.
I'ts FANATICISM and unless we start identfying this as the MAIN problem in the industry things are never going to change.
