Anyone have the solution?
Sound seems okay but no video. When taskbar is in front the stream is okay but no input possible with gamepad then.
I droppped down the resolution, both via PC (steam settings) & via the tablet (steam link) itself. Then it worked.
Try lowering your resolution (on both devices, via the steam settings) step by step.
Not sure if that's the issue in your case though, but perhaps worth trying.
The steam overlay can sometimes cause issues as well, disabling thus may help too.
Frame-generation can cause issues too, but the main culprit is usually the resolution itself.
I would love it if Steam Link got more love from Valve.
Sunshine and Moonlight is the next try…
Steam Link is such a cool feature. Since i discoverd this, i am back at playing games on pc after 8 years.
Frame Gen = off
Ingame = 1080p
BigPicrure Res. Setting = default > 1080p
Desktop = 1080p
It works now.
I don't think you need to change your desktop resolution though.
You only need to change it in-game, via steam settings (PC) & via the steam link settings(TV).
I suppose that explains why I didn't have issues during the first beta test last year, but I got a 4K TV and monitor for a reason, I'm simply not downscaling lol.
Guess I'll be playing at my computer desk until Capcom fixes this (like that'll ever happen)
EDIT: Dropping the resolution down to 1080p and ditching frame generation didn't work for me, so I'm just SOL I guess.
Same with OP, I played the beta through this setup and had no issues at all. I still have a 1080p monitor and it doesn’t work regardless, so I don’t think the 4k TV has much to do with it. I think it’s an oversight on Capcom’s part.
I sent in a ticket about the Link not working to Capcom and they directed me to Valve. I think we just have to try to flood them with tickets until they fix it, it’s almost certainly a bug within this version of MH considering Valve’s latest firmware had no issues with the beta.
Not to mention literally every other game working perfectly fine. This is the only game I've had this issue with, even Non-Steam games work just fine to me when playing through the Steam Link app on my Apple TV 4K. It's definitely an issue with the game, but I couldn't begin to think of what the root cause for it is.
