Steam Link Troubles?
Anyone have problems streaming this game to their Steam Link?

I've got an Apple TV 4K and I stream my PC to the Steam Link app so I can play on the living room TV. Both my PC's main monitor and TV have the same 4K resolution, but for some reason when this game is in focus (actually tabbed into game) it just displays a frozen frame on my TV. As soon as I alt-tab to my desktop it displays in real time as normal.

This is the only game that's given me issues like this with my Steam Link, every other game works flawlessly as intended. I was able to stream MH: Wilds to my TV during the previous beta, but I didn't have a 4K monitor for my PC at the time so it had to run at 1080p when streaming to the Steam Link as the game doesn't seem to have an exclusive fullscreen setting. Could that be the root of the problem?

Any insight (except for "I have the same problem and don't know how to fix it") is appreciated.

I got the same problem~
Anyone have the solution?
Same here. Someone at reddit wrote about nvidia frame generation is the problem. I havent tested yet.

Sound seems okay but no video. When taskbar is in front the stream is okay but no input possible with gamepad then.
I had this issue before (with another game), the problem was the resolution.
I droppped down the resolution, both via PC (steam settings) & via the tablet (steam link) itself. Then it worked.

Try lowering your resolution (on both devices, via the steam settings) step by step.

Not sure if that's the issue in your case though, but perhaps worth trying.
The steam overlay can sometimes cause issues as well, disabling thus may help too.

Frame-generation can cause issues too, but the main culprit is usually the resolution itself.

I have that problem with frame generation
I haven't tried this game, but Steam Link has generally worked worse than Moonlight and Sunshine for me in any game.

I would love it if Steam Link got more love from Valve.

All settings down at 1080p. Windowed mode and still trouble.

Sunshine and Moonlight is the next try…

Steam Link is such a cool feature. Since i discoverd this, i am back at playing games on pc after 8 years.
Okay…

Frame Gen = off
Ingame = 1080p
BigPicrure Res. Setting = default > 1080p
Desktop = 1080p

It works now.

Glad you got it fixed.

I don't think you need to change your desktop resolution though.
You only need to change it in-game, via steam settings (PC) & via the steam link settings(TV).
Everything is fine until I enabled Frame Gen. It never recovers, even when I turn it off and lower the resolution.

I suppose that explains why I didn't have issues during the first beta test last year, but I got a 4K TV and monitor for a reason, I'm simply not downscaling lol.

Guess I'll be playing at my computer desk until Capcom fixes this (like that'll ever happen)

EDIT: Dropping the resolution down to 1080p and ditching frame generation didn't work for me, so I'm just SOL I guess.

Same exact problem. Disabling Frame Generation or changing resolution didn't work.
same, steamdeck show me a 6600 fps and rip...
Can confirm this is the case for me as well. Using the Steam Link hardware with an Ethernet connection and have synced the resolutions across the Link, the game, and my PC. I also turned off the Win10/11 graphics booster setting just in case, no luck.

Same with OP, I played the beta through this setup and had no issues at all. I still have a 1080p monitor and it doesn’t work regardless, so I don’t think the 4k TV has much to do with it. I think it’s an oversight on Capcom’s part.

I sent in a ticket about the Link not working to Capcom and they directed me to Valve. I think we just have to try to flood them with tickets until they fix it, it’s almost certainly a bug within this version of MH considering Valve’s latest firmware had no issues with the beta.

Not to mention literally every other game working perfectly fine. This is the only game I've had this issue with, even Non-Steam games work just fine to me when playing through the Steam Link app on my Apple TV 4K. It's definitely an issue with the game, but I couldn't begin to think of what the root cause for it is.
Just adding a +1 to the exact same problem described by Rue-Ind
