CPU running HOT during benchmark?
Thought I had a pretty decent cooler (Corsair), but during the bench CPU temp hits 100C according to Hardware monitor. Should I be worried?

I9 13900KF
Your CPU will spend 90% of the time at 100% load in this game.
just an FYI

isn't this a known issue of that CPU series of yours?

Might be. I'm ill informed. Kept the BIOS firmware up to date through.
Mine runs at around 70 - 80 degrees
A few online benchmarkers are noting that this game is significantly more CPU bottlenecked than GPU bottlenecked, especially in the hub regions like villages or when there are multiple AIs to simulate/follow. Looks to be like CPUs will be struggling as much, if not more, than GPUs will.

100°C would worry me

check your cpu fan & fan curve, might also need new paste
last effort would be investing in a more powerful cooler

You need to repaste, increase case air flow, or that cooler just isn't enough, i9 can get well above 100 watts.

Shouldn't be getting above 80-85 celsius after doing a 100% stress test for 15 or more minutes.

Yeah I'll try to re-apply some paste and see how this goes if that doesn,t work invest in a better cooler (if you guys have any suggestions go right ahead I'd welcome it)

Heard about it yes. But there isn't a thing I can do about it is there...
I have a 5700x3d and it never went above 55 degrees.

My 5700x3d was at 70-72c, pbo2 co -30 with single tower aircooler. That temp was definitely close to 100% usage for sure since the other game like cbp running at 60-65c just fine. No wonder changing dlss preset and lowering graphics settings until low still dips below 60fps on thunderstorm section, the one that chokes is for sure the cpu.
