Reporting my own case of flashing/flickering/eratic Rock textures
Want to do my due diligence as a fellow hunter to report this insane bug given this is what the benchmark is here to help us with ahead of launch.

As I've seen a couple others report this both here on the steam forums and at least a few times on the MonsterHunter Reddit wanted to add my own case to the pile to see if any sort of common variable could be found. The glitch in question is the fact that *only the rock textures* in active gameplay moments flash/flicker/change between different textures erratically, it's honestly headache inducing, it however *does not* happen during cutscenes.

Built my PC basically from scratch this year (only parts i recycled from my old rig was the PSU and the main SSD drive). The benchmark app is currently installed on a dedicated NVME for my steam library and a few other games.

PC specs according to the in game menu:
CPU: 13th Gen Intel (R) Core(TM) i3-13100F
Ram: 15.63gb
GPU:AMD Radeon RX 6600
VRAM: 7.94 GB
GPU Driver Version: 24.12.1 (according to AMD Adrenaline software this is the latest release as of 11/27/2024, which is a bit old at this point, so i suspect it might get an update at some point this month)

Having run the benchmark several times throughout the day both at 1600x900 and 1920x1080 (this is my monitors maximum resolution and it is an older 60hz monitor), all runs resulted in either a good or excellent score (average 70ish fps without framegen and 100ish fps with framegen). Used a combination of medium to high graphics settings, never enabled ray tracing however.

Messed about with all the in game settings as well as the GPU driver settings in Adrenaline, zero change to the texture issues. Even went out of my way to reset all shader caches possible (Dirext X, GPU and even the benchmark apps shader cache file) but to no avail.

I'm frankly dumbfounded as I've never seen a glitch like this in all my days, changing every setting i could possibly think of changed nothing, and this sort of glitch never showed up when i played Beta One (plenty of other glitches came up but i managed to solve them).

Going to attempt the nuclear option and just completely reinstall it overnight (takes about 10 hours to download it with my abhorrent internet) to see if there's any change. Honestly i'm happy about the fact that at least the game is actually running well besides this particular glitch.

Cheers ya'll and good hunting out there on Beta Two.

Edit: UPDATE, unticking compability mode for windows 8 on Steam somehow fixed it, i don't even touch compability mode settings in any applications besides setting them to run as administrator, so i'd have to guess this is a certified windows moment.

I have the same issue on my 7900 xtx, I did the same thing as you tried all the settings, resolution, overclock, underclock, changed display frequencies, uninstall/reinstall game, ddu, rollback drivers, and even lowered my ram timings. Still same texture flickering and crashes at random intervals. Could be hardware issue at this point.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was some sort of deep seeded issue the game has with AMD GPUs to be completely honest, i'm just surprised this particular issue only JUST showed up in the Benchmark but not the Beta last year, which i managed to get running just fine after some troubleshooting.

So far it has been only the texture issue for me though, somehow the Benchmark hasn't had a crash, y e t. Though i suppose i'll have to wait till it finishes downloading tomorrow morning to see if anything will change at this point.
Beta crashed alot for me had to lower gpu frequencies, I know its not the full release yet but it's the only game that I'm having major issues with.
Welp, after finishing the full reinstall of the application i can confirm the glitch is *STILL THERE*. Not gonna lie i'm utterly stumped.

Edit: UPDATE, I have fixed it, turns out in my case it was caused by, for some ungodly reason, STEAM WAS RUNNING IN COMPABILITY MODE FOR WINDOWS 8. The second i unticked that and launched the application the textures started working just fine. Jesus christ my brain is fried.

Yep, this fixed the issue. However I'm still getting crashes. :(
i unfortunately cant even run the benchmark without it crashing if i don't have compatibility for windows 8 checked. Hope theres another workaround for the terrain flickering :(

Did you ever manage to figure out how to fix it? I'm having the same issue today even

Me too same issue here.
The flickering seems to be caused by "contact shadows"
At least it was in my case in the beta.

Havent gotten to test the full release yet because i just had to enable the high res texture pack... >_>

im having the same issues i have a AMD Radeon 5700 xt. I can run the game fine on low but not like this O.o

Also on an AMD 6750 XT. It either crashes on start up, or i run it on comparability mode and have the flickering rocks. Pain

yeah this is happening to me here, running a AMD 6750 xt so it could be a AMD problem not going to lie

Try Installing this AMD Adrenalin Edition

https://www.amd.com/en/resources/support-articles/release-notes/RN-RAD-WIN-25-2-1.html

Unchecked the Windows 8 compatibility and started the game and it didn't crash. Right now it's compiling shaders so I'm waiting.
