Yeah that's what we'll be aiming for, 60fps locked with no Frame Gen.
I still need to tweak the settings because there were a couple dips into high 40s and low 50s especially during the Sandstorm, but it still looked incredibly smooth.
And that was our takeaway from the first Open Beta too, even when the frame rate chugged it seemed pretty buttery smooth!.
But if he's happy with what he has, why he would need a 5090? Why upgrade at all?
Benchmark isn't even that good of a tool to begin with since most of the score is tied to the cutscenes, which appear to have no open world simulation happening within them. In the actual open world gameplay presented it stayed between 20-30 FPS
Yup, I build computers as a hobby, I know what I'm doing and what the downfalls are, don't worry.
We know the 5500 is bottlenecking the 6700XT, but the budget at the time meant either a weak CPU and a great GPU, or an average CPU and a bad GPU... and that's a no brainer in our opinion.
I might see what the performance is like at 1080p instead of 1440p, because i'd rather use native 1080p than FSR balanced, but it's providing exactly what performance they wanting, it just needs a little tweaking.
20-30fps? On what hardware?
Ryzen 7 5700X, Intel Arc A750, 64GB RAM
Medium Preset, XeSS Upscaling (Balanced), FG Disabled
Arc A750 is basically a 3060 equivalent which is above the recommended on store page
I wasn't expecting 60FPS obviously but sub 30 is not going to be a good time.
Edit: Arc Drivers are pretty much stable nowadays especially on newer titles so there shouldn't be any issue there
Did you get to try the beta? I wouldn't be surprised if that's an Intel driver issue.
There will be launch drivers. (or should be, unless Intel drops support for the A GPU's and only focuses on the B class cards, which would be dumb AF)
Also, A750 is 15-20% slower than the 4060 which is the recommended specs. And 20% slower than 60fps is 48fps.
Even then, the fact that having hardware a lil bit better than whats recommended and still having to rely on frame gen to manage 60 FPS @ 1080 of all things is.... awful. No matter how you shake it or the reasoning behind why it's being this hardware intensive.
Where are people getting 4060 for recommended when it literally says 2060 or 6600 on WIlds store page?
Edit: Also yes I got to try the beta, and that was with a 3060 at the time. Had pretty much similar results in the open world environment
I was just about to post on that, Websites giving wrong information, I just checked Steam and you're right, it says 2060.
It's going to be an Intel driver issue then. You'll have to wait for a release driver.
And yes, Intel drivers are stable now, but that's for current games, this is new.. and very, very different.
